Night sights with tritium and fiber optic

Not combined. I had some Williams Gunsight fiber optic (Fire) sights installed on my S&W M&P 9 and really did not like them at all. They are not well suited for low-light situations. Replaced them very quickly with Trijicon tritium sights which work very well in any lighting condition.

Of All of Your Hanguns, Which Is Your Minimal Level of Comfort for SD?

Smallest caliber I carry for self defense is .38spl or 9mm.

Never on rings or mounts, just a little blue on rail or base screws when mounting to receiver.

Scope mount height for modified cz 527

I have a Redfield 3-9x33 with Warne medium rings mounted on my CZ .223 with room to spare...along with the modified handle of course.

    CZ-527 7.62x39mm?

I just want to point out that CZ sells a modified bolt handle that will help with scope clearance issues. I have a Redfield 3-9x33 with Warne meduim rings mounted on my .223 with room to spare. I think I paid 30 bucks directly from the CZ-USA website.

358 Winchester not produced in 70 years?

Reloading is easy. The hard (critical) part is paying attention and not making stupid mistakes. You could get a single-stage "O" press and some dies and be in business without breaking the bank. I haven't checked recently, but pretty sure you can get a Lee press with all the necessary...

Your input appreciated on this custom Ruger please.

Thank you. This is precisely what I was looking for in an answer. It makes me wonder why the 358 is not a much more popular caliber. Honestly, I had never heard of it until I opened this thread (which I suppose isn't saying much considering the number of different calibers that are...

Your input appreciated on this custom Ruger please.

I guess my question should have been: what is the practical difference?...what can I kill in north America (Detroit?) with a 358 that I can't kill with a 308 for half the cost? Really not trying to rain on your parade. It looks like a beautiful rifle, from your dad, which makes it priceless, but...

Your input appreciated on this custom Ruger please.

Ok, so it's really a gift from dad...and a nice one. :) What is the benefit of a 358 vs the stock 308 to justify more than double the cost? Honestly, I am not at all familiar with the 358 Win so I am curious.

    Ruger 10/22....less than impressed

Well, it's a $200 rifle, after all. I've never really liked the basic 10/22 carbine, so I bought an LVT for 100 bucks more. Much nicer stock, heavy barrel, sling attachment, "better" trigger (which I swapped for a Kidd single stage). Anyway, have fun with your "son's" new rifle. I'm sure...

    Red dots with diopter adjustment?

I have the same issue for an entirely different reason. After cataract surgery at the relatively young age of 51, I had retinal swelling that resulted in permanent scarring of my retina. The eye can be corrected to about 20-25 at best. Because of the scarring on my retina, all of the red dot...

CZ 455 or other Rimfire in 17HMR.

I have never swapped the barrel on my 455. It came with a 22LR and 22WMR, with the 22LR installed from the factory. I bought it to shoot 22LR and have no plans to ever swap. I don't shoot 22WMR and have very little on hand. If I want more punch from a rimfire, I use my Savage 93R17. So, count...

    Holsters: Conceal, convenience dilemma

If I'm in too much of a hurry to fuss with a pancake or other belt holster I grab my SP101 or S&W 442 in a small Kydex appendix clip-on, IWB of course. And a speed strip. I'm ready to go in about 3 seconds. It's really not that difficult.

1911 Slide Lubrication -White Lithium Grease?

As many have already stated, use whatever works. I will point out, for what it's worth, Kimber expressly states NOT to use grease on their 1911s. As for me, I've been using dexron transmission fluid - a quart goes a looooooong way for 8 bucks.

what scope for 22 rimfire target

I agree that high-power is required to tigheten groups at 50 yards. I find that I can shoot 3/4" groups at 50 yards with a 3-9x40, and use a Nikon Target EFR with AO like the one Arch linked to above, (mounted to my CZ 455 American or my modified 10/22 LVT) but if I wanted to even attempt to...

Need suggestions for Ultra compact 1911 for carry use.

I've got three 1911s that are compact (less than 5"): A 9mm Springfield EMP, a Kimber Ultra CDP II, and a stainless steel Colt Commander XSE. I don't have a high round count through any of them, less than 1000 rounds each, but I am confident enough in any of the three to bet my life on them...

    CZ 527 .223 Scoped

Nice. Getting this rifle scoped can be a challenge, and for me it was a lot of trial-and-error. Glad to hear you got yours sorted out, with just a little pain. :) Mine likes 50gr bullets. I can't remember my load off the top of my head, but I believe it was Hornady 50gr SP over Benchmark...

Ar-15 bipod adapter question... what would you want

Agreed, but you're not buying it...you're selling it. And standard ARs have no rail on the hand guard. Again, just on man's opinion and maybe not popular. Best of luck - your hand guard does look nice (and clean).
