The 45gap is close to the 45acp. BUT If You Want Absloutaly The Most then +P 45acp has more punch. If you find you have smaller hands and you like the feel of a 45gap in a sertain platform then go for it.

I vote 40S&W. More power than a 9mm and holds more rounds than a 45ACP. For a couple less rounds though the 45acp is still King. The 40S&W fills the gap between 9mm and 45ACP very well.

Sig Pro 2340 40S&W. Never had a FTF or Jam. Always hits where I aim. And feels the best in my hand.

If they can make a 410 Derringer then Why not a 12ga? Or a 20ga for that matter? And who cares about recoil if your life is about to end? It just might have actial STOPPING POWER in a handgun.
