    REALLY Shiny brass

I found out how to get a really, really shiny finish on brass. Put it in the tumbler for a couple of hours on Wednesday, forget about it until Sunday. :banghead:

    Hornady LnL modification

Loading .223 on the LNL using the Hornady powder measure and CFE223 powder. The powder meters nicely - but - the pistol rotor is of course too small to get a full drop and the rifle rotor is touchy. The rotor stems are threaded at 1/2 x 20 tpi. On the pistol rotor you get about 1 grain powder...

First try at .223 loading progressive - not good.

Decided to set up the LnL and take a stab at loading .223 in progressive mode. AAAARGHHHH! I'm using once fired Lake City (milsurp) brass that has been decapped, sized, polished, swaged, and trimmed. Maybe 6 out of 10 the primer seated with no real issue, a couple three took a bit of an...

    Hornady LNL 9mm issues -

I started a new thread rather than continuing to hijack the powder die thread. My issues with the LNL to date (this is a new press I probably have not broken the 500 load count yet) have mostly to do with the 9mm. I'm using Blue Dot - since I have 3-4 lbs of the stuff and I can't get...

    9mm reloading - die question

Reading a fair amount about reloading issues with the 9mm - particularly problems with resizing, glock bulges, etc. It occurs to me that a collet type die might solve a lot of 9mm problems - but I don't see that anyone even markets such a beastie. I was thinking that if the die body housed a...

    Getting closer and closer, sigh

In the process of trying to get set up to load handgun on the L N L some 11 internet orders later and a lucky primer score at a local brick and mortar and I can almost load something! I have everything I need for the 9mm now. Except dies. Midway moved the backorder date back on them until...

    hmm. .357 loads

Many years ago - before Algore invented the internet, I bought a S&W 686 6" .357 mag. I loaded for it on a single stage press with a Lyman balance beam scale. I weighed out every load to +/- .1 To the best of my recollection. I do have an old RCBS uniflow powder measure, but I believe I...

    lock n load primer question

Setting up my lock n load I notice that the external primer support tube rides up agains the body of the powder drop. It's clear when the ram is down, but as you come up with the ram the plastic support sleeve hits the powder measure and deflects the primer tube over a bit, probably about 1/8"...

    Thanks Squidbert!

In the process of trying to accumulate all the odds and ends to find and set up a LNL press Squidbert PM'd with an offer to sell me an extra 9mm shell plate he had as I was having a time trying to find one. We agreed on a price and I sent him the appropriate funds sometime last week. Today...

    rifle on a progressive

I just got my hornady lnl and I'm in the process of getting it set up to load .45 ACP, 9 mm, .357 mag. I load for several rifle calibers also - .22-250, .25-06, .270 win, .300 win mag., .45-70 Not a lot, especially the .45-70, and only hunting loads so production isn't real important. I...

    darn! Hornady shellplate

Checking various sites looking for 9mm shell plate, along with half the rest of the country I guess. Lo and behold Cabelas had them in stock, yea! Checked - yup, .38/.357 available also - add that to basket, check on lnl bushings 10 pack - yup, add to basket. Wireless router crashed, reset...

    I love Midway

I saw a blurb online the other day that Midway had MecGar sig p226 mags in stock, limit 2 per customer. So I jumped online and ordered up a couple of magazines and some other odds-n-ends. Some of the items are backordered (dies). On checkout, there was a note that said due to extreme volume...

    Hornady Lock-n-load questions

I'm thinking about getting a Hornady lnl for .45 ACP, 9mm, .38/.357 mag. I've loaded for years on single stage and load .22-250, .25-06, .270 win, .300 win mag, .45-70, and the .357. I also load on a Ponsness 800+ shotshell loader. So I know something about loading and have scales and plenty...

Found one! Sig 1911R TacOps TB

My first autoloader - a Sig TacOps 1911R Threaded BBl. Sweet! I can't wait to run some rounds downrange! Decided when all the 2A stuff started up that it was time to get one. Of course they are a little hard to find, but I stopped in at the LGS today and they had 2 sitting right there on the...
