I agree with most of the responses thus far. You had no way to be certain he was speaking to you. One thing confuses me though. And that is your statement about believing in asking permission rather than forgiveness. If this is true and you were unsure why didn't you simply ask?
We can...
My glocks get a drop of oil. My sigs get a bit of grease. My 1911's get grease. Gun grease holds up for a long time. No need to keep reapplying. And grease on polymer really is unnecessary.
I'm afraid the amount of grease in the photo's may do more harm then good.
Well he's an idiot or he's not an idiot. I believe the story, others don't. All these things aside I'm glad this thread was posted. Pictures like the ones linked here are a good way of reminding me not to become complacent. Sometimes I think that's all it amounts to.

Thank you Owen. 1911 is what I thought as well. You know if an instructor is determined to demonstrate this theory you would think he would be smart enough to figure out a better way.
I'm curious. If I was in that class I would have been tempted to leave when he didn't clear the weapon and...
What you say is true Double. But when I look closely at the pic of the entry wound I think I can see the imprint of a muzzle. Can anyone else see this? If it is a muzzle it might be safe to assume (still an assumption) that a weapon pressed against the arm caused the wound. Which tends to...
The OP said it correctly. He failed to follow all the basic safety rules. It makes an accident much more likely when you ignore them all.
I hope he recovers an retains full functionality.
Two of my favorites are Grabagun.com and CDNN. CDNN has an online catalog and the inventory is a little limited, but the prices are good as is the service. My favorite is Grabagun. A flat $5.99 shipping rate and a pretty good inventory. They do take three days to process and ship your order...
I think this is a great thread and an important topic. Being polite and respectful is always a good idea. And being taken to task for it is short sighted. It assumes that while being polite a person forgets his or her awareness. Most people looking for trouble usually indicate their...
J-Bar. By now you may have figured out that Mr. Bohannon (as he is most often called) is the star character in a TV series. Loosely based on building the railroad the show is called, Hell on Wheels."
If its the only weapon you own use it. If at all possible try to purchase something in a more popular defense caliber. This will be a great resource for you. Hang out here for a while and ask questions. You will soon have a better idea of what you can expect from the .25 and what else is out...
