SD ammo for 1981 Browning Hi Power

Oh yea it feeds all 124gr ball perfectly. I am really just messing around trying to find a hollow point solution. More for fun than anything else.

SD ammo for 1981 Browning Hi Power

Ammo came in yesterday and I made it out there today. Federal Hi-shok 115gr. The 9bp stuff. I was cautiously optimistic after seeing the older hollow point bullet profile. And I am using the new mechar mag. But unfortunately I got similar results, though different types of failures, as the old...

SD ammo for 1981 Browning Hi Power

It is an absolute peach. He is, by FAR, my favorite uncle.

Are Sights Really Necessary on a Concealed Carry Pistol?

Lots of training tactical cool guys will tell you that if you are not seeing your sights you need to train more. I think the reality is the vast majority of the time you will never pick up your sights. That's not to say that they are not necessary. To the contrary. There are plenty of...

What 9mm Defensive Ammunition do You Carry?

HST 124 gr in my shorter barrels and 147 in my longer barrels. I know that's not really necessary with the HST but it makes me feel better. I also find the +p to be unnecessary with these and Gold Dots. On a side note, HST 230gr in my .45 and Hornady 110+p FTX in my snub 38.

SD ammo for 1981 Browning Hi Power

So to bump a very old thread. I do have a new Mec Gar Magazine. I did not replace any springs. Remington UMC 115gr JHPs fed better than the WWB 115gr JHPs, but with both I still had a jam about every 1.5 magazines. I put the project away for a while as I have been distracted by other bright...

    .32 H&R Mag J-frame is BACK !!!

I had the LCR and carried it for a while but the reset was WAY to long and light. My wife could not help but short stroke it and I would too if I wasn't thinking about it. Good gun but I ended up trading it off. Interested in this one.

    Favorite 25 Cal?

I hunt with a Ruger No. 1 in .257 Roberts. Killer round. That's my vote. I am pretty much done at this point buying rifles but for the right price I would buy a .250 Savage.

Best refinish for S&W model 10

I had no idea that was an option. I clicked on this thread because I have a model 10-10 police surplus that has lost most of its bluing from years of holster wear. I was thinking about it just this weekend. Any idea what they charge?

    Do you own a Glock?

I have a 19 and a 20, both Gen 3s. I also have a .40 conversion barrel for the 20. For years I kept the Glock 19 loaded and occasionally carried it but they are both now relegated to range guns. I have had and traded off a 32 and a 42. The 32 was too snappy and the 42 was not reliable. I could...

Tell me about revolvers for my 15 year old daughter

My daughter is 15. She shoots a Colt Trooper with a six inch barrel. It has been a really good gun and will probably go with her when she moves on in a few years. She has also shot my Smith 19-2 and her Uncles Smith 27. But she much prefers the trooper. I load it with Speer Lawman 125gr standard...

I understand how that can go. Been there.

Fair enough. Each to their own.

    45 ACP Short Barrel

I would also like to add, and I understand I am being critical of the OP but this is a discussion forum, that one 20 round box or ammo is absolutely in no way shape or form enough to testing functionality and reliability. That is especially true out of a short barreled gun that was originally...

    45 ACP Short Barrel

I will have to admit I am a little confused by this OP. OP states that he is not a fan of the .45acp 'at all' but he buys one, a compact one no less. Then he goes out and chooses quite possibly the nastiest ammo possible for it when there are several good choices that will be much easier to...

Looks like Paul Harrell is coming to the end of his road...

My favorite thing about Paul is how humble and human he is. So many of the gun tubers are tattoos and tacticool and if your not carrying two extra mags and blah blah blah. Paul is none of those things. He also does not frame every video around how far away the police are when you need them or...

Old School or New School CCW

I can always tell on these threads who has tinnitus and who does not. There is a 0% chance I would carry a .357 actually loaded with .357. Anyone who says or thinks 'id rather deal with a ringing ear then be dead...blah blah blah...' has never dealt with serious tinnitus. Between those two...

    Current gun statistics from Greece

Friend of mine grew up in Istanbul but is half Greek. From a fairly wealthy family. He told me when he was younger he carried a PPK in .380 and his family had buried guns on farmland they owned in Greece after the war with Cyprus. That was the source of his PPK.

    Changing your carry gun?

fff I have that same gun but in 45. The CW45. I really like it and use it extensively at the range for DA and recoil practice. I don't carry it often but would have no problem carrying a Kahr 9mm or .45 every day. Great guns.

    Changing your carry gun?

I have been on quite the search over the last few years, some of it documented on here, for the right carry guns for me. I carry either a S&W 438 in a pocket holster or a Sig P239 in a IWB holster. I do not have a problem at all with striker fired handguns, but not IWB. Not for me. I also have...
