I have been shooting handguns for years. I've had several revolvers and several autos. With a 6" Ruger gp100 I used to own I was very accurate at over 50yds. I was decent at 100yds. I have a 5.5" Ruger Bisley 45 colt that I shoot pretty good. I have hit a gallon jug with it at 100yds. I would...
I have a Ruger 77/22 mag rifle that I have had for years. It is the laminate varmint version with the heavy target grey barrel. Also has a 3-10×44 simmons 44 mag scope. I have been seeing a lot of these on gunbroker for $700-$775. If I thought I could get that I might sell. Do you guys think my...
Ok, so I ditched the non chrome lined idea. I will be buying either a Stag model 1 or 2 or a Bushmaster patolmans carbine. All specs are basically the same except the bushy is 4150 vs 4140 Stag. What is the warranty like on the Bushmaster? How is the quality on the new Bushmasters now that...
Which is better and why?
1.) Rock River lar-15 a4 mid length clearance carbine no rear sight $699.
2.) Aero Precision AC-15 $615.
3.) S&W M&P Sport II that has forward assist and dust cover as well as flip-up rear $640.
I have never owned a 1911 before. That being said I would like to try one. There are some things about them that I don't care for like the fact that you carry them cocked and they have no decocker. I have fallen in love with the plastic striker fire guns lately; however I still want a 1911. I...
I'm thinking about getting a new rifle. Looking at an M&P sport II at about $599 or a PSA upper and lower build that would total about $530. Both of these would have same sight set-up with one pmag. The PSA would be of the stainless barrel variety for the price mentioned. What are your opinions?
Who makes the best standard m4 carbine with removable carry handle and front sight? Colt and Stag are hard to come by right now. Are Bushmasters back to being good again? I want to be under $1000.
I have been loading 250 grain rnfp with universal. I'm just now starting to get some accuracy with 8 grains. Hodgdon says 7.8 grains is max. Speer data says you can go more. Many say it is almost the same as unique. Many load 10 grains of unique. How much can I go with this stuff? If anyone is...
I read a lot of things online telling me that this is a good manual to start with. Since purchasing this manual I have realized two things.
1.) If you were to pick out loads in this book and then go to the store to buy the components you will most likely come home empty handed.
2.) If you go...
Why is there plenty of load data for 44 mag using universal, but none for 45 colt ruger only loads? The max load for 250 grain cast bullets is 7.8 grains. Hodgdon lists this load at 941fps. I believe the speer manuel says it takes almost a whole grain more powder to get this velocity. Also...
I got a Browning X-bolt stalker 308. It came with Leupold bases and rings as well as a Leupold VX-1 3-9×40 scope. I haven't shot it yet, but it may be the most comfortable rifle to shoulder I've ever felt. Also, I live in Ohio so I have ABSOLUTELY no use for a 308. Oh well I like it.
I want to get a rifle for this amount. It will be used for targets and occasional coyote. Possibility of a hog hunt. These are the options that I have found.
1.) New Remington 700 vtr camo 308 $625 otd.
2.) New Browning a-bolt ii medallion 22-250 (beautiful) $705 otd.
3.) Used like new Browning...
Is it ok to load say lead or jhp bullets in the short leverevolution brass? I have Hornady dies which I have read will work with the short brass. Also will this make the pressure levels unsafe due to short brass? I am wanting to crimp in the cannelure, but not sure about MINIMUM length and pressure.
Does anyone load 45-70 with hornady dies to use in their lever gun? I'm concerned about the crimping situation. I know that everyone loves the Lee factory crimp dies, but do I need it? I would buy all lee, but I have a bunch of the short leverevolution brass, which I believe requires Hornady...
