    I FINALLY found a ruger 454 casull

I've been eyeing a SRH in 480 Ruger for years as well. It always been out of stock in the times I've looked for it. Now that I'm looking again I'm noticing revolvers in general have gone up it seems some 50% from a few years ago. Ruger LCRs where $400-$500, GP100s were $600, SRH were $800-$900...

Have the triggers on the Walther PPS gotten worse?

Keep in mind that there are two triggers for the PPS depending on which state they are sold in. A standard trigger and a heavy trigger that I know is sold in Massachusetts. The standard one is decent, very glock like. The heavy one is 10+ pounds.

    Optics for a ruger 2245

Many bullseye shooters swear by Ultradot Matchdots. I like them because the dot is adjustable down to 2MOA.

    Proper use of loctite

Blue loctite doesn't seem to be working well for me lately. I've attempted to use to it to keep 1911 grips on and keep a red dot scope mount on a Ruger Mark III. Both the grip an the scope mount have loosen after maybe 100 rounds. I thought I didn't use enough the first time so I made sure all...

Lever guns - hating on Henry

The actions on the .22s are very smooth. Lack of a loading gate on a centerfire models is a deal breaker for me though. I'd rather get an used Connecticut made Marlin or a Winchester for centerfire calibers.

    Longevity of big bore revolvers, .480 Ruger, .454Casull, .460S&W, .500 S&W, etc.

I'm considering picking up a Ruger Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger as a pin shoot revolver, range toy and maybe some day for hunting. On paper it looks like an ideal pin shoot round, more pop than a .44 magnum, lighter recoil and lower pressure than a .454 casull, ability to use 410grain bullets...

Let's hear from the Walther P99 owners......

Just curious, which finger to P99 owners using to depress the tigger guard magazine release? I'm assuming its intended to be activated with your strong side index finger. With my Walter PPS, what feels most natural to me is resting my strong side index finger on the frame just blow the slide and...

Need Help Choosing a 9mm for Wife

I'm not sure if that gun exists. The closest thing might be the newer 4" barrel version of the Springfield XDs 9mm. Its almost full size, single stack, striker fired. No thumb safety but it does have a 1911 style grip safety. The Walter CCP might also be a good option. Its about the size of a...

    New Ruger GP100-22

I was ready to jump over to Davidson's and order one until I realized it wasn't available yet. I've been wanting a full size .22 revolver for a while but didn't like the S&W price tag, the Taurus inconsistant quality, and all of the single action models don't feel right in my hands. I've been...

308 as a "budget conscious" rifle?

Well damn, now that I think I about it, I guess 50 cal. is the only other one. When I wrote that, in my head, I was thinking other American military cartirdges (ie 30-06) and was excluding commie-bloc stuff like 7.62x54R which is still somewhat cheaper.

308 as a "budget conscious" rifle?

Its still likely the cheapest NATO rifler caliber to shoot aside form 5.56x45. However, is there any cheap surplus 308 ammo left? I occationally see some Portuguese made 308 in my LGS but its not much cheaper than the newly manufacture stuff. Sportsman's has some 1980's Hirtenberger in stock at...

    Is ruger over extending themselves

They always have the option of dropping production on certain models if they don't have high demand and bring them back later. They did this with in the last year with the Redhawk DA revolver. The Superhawk was still in production during this time. They pull the Redhawk from the product listing...

    P238 vs G42

I suppose this is yet another case where everyone's actually body is different. When I sit down with an LCP in my back pocket, the whole gun is behind me rather than under me. I wear a belt all the which also may contribute to this. I'm realizing that back pocket carry, similar to appendix...

    P238 vs G42

One of the main things that the LCP really excels at is being small enough for rear pocket carry. With a rear pocket holster with a flap over the top of it (ie. pocketholsters.com) it is completely concealed even with a shirt tucked in and with a pair of jeans. I suspect that P238 could do...
