I don't know if you have the 9 or the 40. I have the 9 and I too prefer the larger 8 rd magazine ( I have large hands). I bought a couple extra 8 rounders.
Midway has the 8 rd mags for the 9mm shield for 32 clams.

It does not appear to be more expensive as it is priced at the same MSRP on the Ruger website as the laminate stock; $1,039 & $1,099 for the alloy steel and stainless steel barrels respectively so in theory anyway it should retail for the same...
I've got a cheaper Barska spotting scope. Mine is 18-36 x 50. It is fine for 100 yes. The tripod was really cheap and broke almost right out of the gate. I found a used camera tripod that woks much better.
Cabelas had a deal on a Nikon Prostaff rimfire w/333 rds of 22 LR for 99 clams, so I picked that up for my 10/22. I thought that was a pretty good deal.
I saw Hornady steel match ammo in 223 @ Cabelas last weekend if that is what you are talking about. It was around $20 a box which doesn't seem like much of a deal not me.

I dunno, If it is nitrocarburized, why wouldn't they say so as a selling point instead of saying black oxide? It's a completely different ( superior) process.
I have been looking for one of these for a while. Finally saw one at the local LGS. I wanted the .223 version because I have a large stash of that for my AR's. The stock isn't as nice as some I have seen but on the plus side it's the newer 1:9 twist version :D . I hope to take it out later this...
