    Need advice on which 1911 to buy, please...

    I have a Para P12 and a Colt Officer upper on an RIA full-size frame. No problem with reliability or accuracy. The Colt upper was was installed by a 'smith. I carry the P12 because it is an alloy frame, and is much lighter. I trust both.:)

    Who Here Owns A WORKING Firearm That Is > 100 Years Old

    I gave grandson the LeFevre double barrel, and son has the WW1 Mauser, so all I have left is a 1901 Colt Army revolver in .38. Have not, and will not, shoot it, but the gunsmith says no problem with it.

    Aluminum Frame Guns

    alum. frame The first alloy frame I had was a Star PD45. I liked the pistol, so I bought a LW Commander. The barrel seemed a little long for carry, so I bought an alloy Para P12. I have no complaints with any of these pistols. I did sell the Star, but still have the other 2.

    Fuel & ammo Well, I started reloading the .45 ammo, My old Cessna thinks she's grounded, and I bought an old car that doesn't use as much fuel as my old pickup. I haven't bought any .22 ammo in a while, but it sounds like the price has nearly doubled on it.:scrutiny:

    the star pd45 was a compact liteweight copy of the 1911,it had no grip safety, i still carry one.))) Nice little pistols. I wish I had mine back.

    Browning Hi Power questions

    I have small hands, and I got a "hammer bite" the first round I fired from a high Power. Easy to avoid, though, and hard to forget. They are good guns.

    Who do you buy once-fired brass from?

    Call Lynn Norris 318-265-7200. His internet was down last time I checked, but he sells tumbled .45 brass for $20.00 per 500 plus shipping. You have to do the depriming, but that's no sweat.
