    Reloading Equipment Warranties?

I was away from reloading a couple years so I'm not up on current practices. Back a few years every manufacturer of reloading equipment would replace any thing that broke, cost free. I see now that the practice has stopped. I can remember emailing RCBS or Hornady or anyone for that matter and...

    Berrys Hybrid Hollow Points

Any one use them? I bought some Berry's hollow points a few years back. I shot a few and was not able to see any expansion. Now I see those bullets being sold as "Target Hollow Points". I guess I don't know what a target hollow point is. Do the Berry's Hybrid Hollow points expand well? I...

    TulAmmo vs CCI?

I loaded about 300 45ACP rounds the other day with my LNL. I have a bunch of Tula (TulAmmo KVB-45) large pistol primers. I bought them during harder times a while back and have used a great deal of them. I haven't had any real problems with them as far as no fires or any other mechanical...

    HP-38

I've been finding HP-38 on the shelves lately. I bought two 1 lb cans from Bailey's House of Guns in South Houston while I was visiting that area. They had an 8 Lb. jug but my budget didn't allow that. Yesterday I found out that the Academy Store in Huntsville TX is soon to be putting...

    6559 reloaded shells to date

I bought a Hornady LNL about three years ago. Since then I've reloaded 6559 shells. Counting the RockChucker and the LNL I've reloaded 12,221 shells. Yes, I've had a few problems, but never anything too serious. From what I've seen re-loaders are fortunate to have such great vendors.

    Hats off to Hornady

I've had my LNL about four years now and any trouble I've had, I've been able to self diagnose and come up with a workable solution. Then It got to where the shell plate wasn't lining up good enough to drop into the detents. In short the timing was a smidge off and seating primers became a...

    New expierence for me

I always assume all of the 223 brass I buy from used brass dealers on line has crimped primers. I size/de-cap first, ream the primer pockets to remove the crimp then run them through my LNL to seat a new primer, add powder and seat a new bullet. This system has worked well for me and...

    Knocking the rust off ....

I moved last February and I just got the reloading room set up. It's taken about a month to get things in order. Today I sat down for the first time in about eight months and ran a batch of .40&W. Well things went fairly well. I had a few snafu's but all in all it worked out well. 100...

    good find

I found about 600 lbs of pure lead in my fathers garage, and this is the second time around. Earlier in the year I found the first 600 pounds, now I found another big pile. On top of that the neighbor across the street saw me packing the lead and asked If I do any reloading. I said yes then...

    Lanolin/Heet Case lube?

So I wanted to try something different. Lanolin: I go online and buy some lanolin. Now Solutions Liquid Lanolin, 100% pure, intense protection. Water removed. Next I go to Walmart to get some Heet. I see two kinds, one is in a yellow bottle and the other is in a red bottle. the...

    Remington 700

I'm not trying to stir up trouble. I have a legitimate question due to a concern of mine. There is a bit of history here. First of all my father bought this rifle new. It's a bolt action Remington 700 chambered in 30-06. I'm guessing this was 25 or 30 years ago. From what I remember the...

Stuck Case Sticky Saves My Butt

First of all, I have never stuck a case ... till now, and boy did I do it right. I used a very light coat of RCBS Case Lube-2, big mistake and I should have known better. I knew I had read the note on how to remove a stuck case but I couldn't remember where I saw it. Using the search feature...

Hornady Powder Drain Insert - Review

I just purchased and received the Hornady Powder Drain Insert. I have to admit I was a bit surprised at how well the unit works. It's an aluminum insert that fits into the Hornady LNL Powder Measure. Pretty simple really, it takes the place of the metering insert and allows you to drain the...

    Ruger BlackHawk Question

I have a Ruger BlackHawk SAA chambered in 45 Colt and I love it. Stupid question: If I were to buy a 45 ACP Cylinder for my pistol would I be able to shoot 45 ACP and 45 Colt out of the same gun?

    Scored some lead today

I don't know why I never thought of it before but .... my son works at a Chevy Dealership. He's what they call a service ticket writer. Basically his job is to be the middle man between the customers and service folks. He is always talking to the parts dept. or the mechanics. The other day...

    I couldn't get Hodgdon Universal so ....

Hodgdon Universal seems to elude me, I haven't been able to find it. I finally decided to try some Win 231, same story. My source dried up. I did find some Hodgdon HP38. I understand that it is the same as Win231. I sure hope thats right .... I bought eight pounds of it. It'll Be here...
