Asking Santa for a progressive reloading press?

I too have the LNL and have been pleased with it. I don't know what changes have been made since I purchased mine several years ago. The first thing I did was polish the primer moving parts and just spent some time understanding what all is going on each time you pull the handle down. I went...

    looking for a .22 plinker

I picked up an ATI in 445 semi auto and it never fails. I have always been tempted to pick up a 22 from the same manufacturer. Reports are they are very reliable for around $300 where I live. Go to some gun shows and you can pick up a single six. I have two of them, one I have never shot...

Uh oh, momma's not going to be happy

Do like I have been doing the last five years. I have been planning to retire for a while and it is going to happen in a couple of months. I have been telling my wife, in preparation of a reduced income, that I needed to stock up on components while I could. I have cases of primers, jugs of...

    Anyone own a Superior Safe?

Yes, I have read the many threads on gun safes but have only found a couple of references to Superior Safes. They compare very favorably to a Liberty for a lot less money. The interiors do not seem as nice as a Liberty but still OK. So is there anyone out there who reads this forum who owns one...

    New gun sales provisions

I have been extremely busy lately and have not had the opportunity to keep up with the latest on the president's latest interpretation of who can sell a firearm. Can someone tell me if this is indeed in effect and what are the particulars of it. I can't imagine it would be this quickly but who...

    Simple, effective, inventory system?

Like many others I use Excel. I have separate tabs for long guns and pistols. I put down the model, special notes, where I purchased it, when, cost, if I sold it (never happens), estimated value and any accessories I put on it. Insurance company loves the info. I take pictures of everything...

I've lost my hero, my friend, my father...

Sorry for your loss but Praises to God for his time on this earth. He taught and modeled Christ which is what we are instructed to do. He fulfilled his calling in Christ. He is in glory with his King and Savior. You were blessed, very blessed.

Now that ISIS has threatened attacks on American Shopping malls

They would love to hit a mall with AR type weapons. That will then lead to more media clamoring to get rid of guns in America because they are too easy to get, even terrorists can get them. So that leads to more gun laws and background checks. The real problem is we already have these BG's in...

    Auction Idiocy ...

I have a slightly different take on all of this. I have been a buyer on a couple of different sites, never a seller. My gripes are when I asked several basic questions such as: 1. Does it locked up solid? 2. Is there any cutting in the backstrap? 3. Do the grips number to the gun? 4. Are...

I have this to say about gun control..

Right now we have the Constitution that currently protects our rights. There is a systemic assault on Christianity and acceptance of other religions and political thought processes. The reason for this is that our constitution is rooted in Judea-Christian principles. Thus they have to get rid of...

    Locked Out of My Safe

I have been looking and safes and talking to safe experts and the common comment I get is that there are two kinds of electronic locks - those that hace failed and those that will fail. With the electronic ones it is only a matter of time. I wont buy one. There are different qualities as well...

Happy New Year! What Is the ONE Gun You Most Wish to Acquire in 2015?

Got bitten by the S & W revolver bug. Picked up a M19, 66-2 and a 67. Would like a M27 and something in a .41 caliber which I do not have or load for.

Dan Wesson revolvers vs Smith vs Rugers

I love my Dan Model 15V with 6" barrel. They are extremely smooth to operate with the short action and hold on the target with ease handling the recoil. I nearly purchased one new back in 79 but opted for a Colt Trooper and waited all these years while the prices have skyrocketed to finally get...

    Educate me on primers..

I use primarily CCI's in everything. I have used Federal, Winchester and Tula's. I do think the Federals are a bit softer. Every once in a while one gets sideways in my Lee hand primer and they just have a much softer feel to them. The Tula's are harder and tighter as well. I have a Dan...

Colt Trooper MkIII: Yea or Nay?

Picked my MK III up in around 1980. Solid handgun. Not as smooth as my smiths. I get it out a few times a year but not my favorite to shoot. Definitely worth picking up for a decent price. Cant touch them around here in nice shape for under 600, most closer to 700.

    Keeping primed cases on hand

I have most every caliber at one stage or another from my days of the single stage and Lee hand primer. I have litterally thousands of 9's, 38's, 357, and a few hundred 45's ready to go at all different stages. I use the good ole plastic coffee cans and put half of an index card in each can to...

    Powder suggestions per caliber.

I use the same 4.0 grains of Titegroup for a 124 grain Berrys. The OAL is different for different bullets and pistols. I load a 124 HBFP at 1.065 for my CZ 75 Sp 01 and 1.150 for the RBFB. I just like the TG for accuracy, it works for me.

    Firearms Insurance?

I just went through this ordeal this past summer. We ended up with Safeco. Tried Allstate and State Farm but both were much higher. They asked me for a list of firearms which I already had with numbers. They wanted to know what I valued them at. In my spread sheet I put what I paid, where, when...
