I have shot a bunch of compressed loads in both my 270win and 223 rem. IMR 3031 has been a good powder for me in 223 but most loads are compressed as it fills the case fast being a bulky powder. Speer lists a max charge that is practically full to the top of the case.
I like a good wood stock with a nice blued finish but for my hunting rifles I will take synthetic and stainless. I will spend several days in the mountains hunting and the synthetic and stainless rifles are easier to maintain and less prone to rust when in the field for several days. The last 22...
I use both a balance and a digital. I am using a Dillion Eliminator beam scale which is made by Ohaus and a RCBS Chargemaster Lite as my digital scale. Both have been accurate and repeatable. I test with check weights before every loading session.
Thanks for the suggestions. Cleaned up the receiver and bolt as best as I could with some gunscrubber and air. The grease that was on there was really stuck on.
I have a 1956 Remington 760 in 257 Roberts that I am trying to take apart to give it a good cleaning. The bolt and inside the receiver is covered in old sticky grease and needs to be cleaned up. I watched some videos on youtube and read some instructions but I cant get the action tube to free...
I like Starline for pistol if I'm buying new, Fed, Win, Rem, Blazer if range pickup or from factory ammo.
For rifle I like Norma the best but Remington and Winchester are good too. In my AR I like LC the best.
I used it in 9mm and .40s&w. I had good accurate loads in .40s&w. It won't replicate factory defense load velocity but does a good job for target shooting. Its a good target powder and I'll keep some on the shelf.
I use my Lee dippers and then use my trickler to finish quite a bit. Great way to load for load development. I only use my Uniflow or Chargemaster Lite to dispense when I am loading a bunch a rounds.
PSD brass is made by the same company that makes PMC, and is sold as PMC X-Tac ammo. I haven't personally used PSD brass but I have used PMC and like it. PSD is a military brass so you will have to remove the primer crimp before reloading.
Most factory 10mm is loaded pretty weak for 10mm. Most of the brass I have I bought new as I can load new brass cheaper than current factory ammo prices.
I have been using 25.1gr of H335 with a 55gr fmj. That load worked best in my rifle. I currently have some test rounds loaded up to test 62gr fmjs with H335.
