    .223 1:7 AR 15 psa load suggestions

Use the Benchmark for prairie dogs, with a 55gr V-Max. That makes for a very accurate combo in the 5-6 rifles I've tried it in. And Benchmark should still be accurate with heavier bullets, but I don't think it will generate the velocities you're seeking. Skip the CFE-223. It's good for...

compact heavy firepower for wilderness helicopter travel

I'm just a dummy from Kansas that's never had to be in brown bear territory. But I think I'd want an AR10 with a 16" or 18" barrel. Or a 12ga Rem 870 or Mossberg 500, mariner" version, with a shorter fixed stock and mag extension. And an 8 shot .357 with 3 or 4" barrel. Personally I think I'd...

    Big bore dilemma.

Have you considered a .460S&W? If you already handload for your .454 and .45colt you probably already have some components lying around. It has more energy at 200 yards than a .44mag has at point blank, but you could always load it to .454 or .45 velocity, or even just drop in .454 or .45 ammo...

    New Cheapest Gun

I have one in the same configuration as the OP. It was something my dad bought for backyard fun about 10 years ago. My mom passed it down to me when my dad's health started getting bad. I put a few bulks packs of Federal through it with him while he was still able to shoot. Its the only real...

    Hand Loading .22 magnum

https://www.eliteammunition.com/#!/T6B-Preorder/p/51287185/category=13357850 27gr at 2480fps. Probably not going to get any hotter than that without damaging something/someone. You can't run that in a PMR30 but the 5.7 comes with 20rnd magazines. And there are aftermarket 30 rounders.

    Fav non-standard cartridge

I've never seen 7.62x54R at a Wal-Mart. And that's the only "non-standard" chambering that I currently own. I'm just glad I bought a few spam cans of it before Mosins and their food jumped so much in price. If you look a little you can find current manufactured .308win ammo as cheap as some...

    rimfire ammo belt pouch

I use something like this for shooting clays, but bigger, to hold a box or 2 of 12gauge shells. This one would be nice because it could clip onto a belr that you're already wearing, or you could get a dedicated belt for it to use the built in loop instead of the metal hook. I keep my shotshell...

    Hand Loading .22 magnum

And I would guess that any handgun designed to handle a "5.7 on steroids" would be quite bulky compared to an FN 5.7. And 5.7 brass is coated to aid in feeding and extraction. I'm guessing FN couldn't push it any faster without issues.

    Hand Loading .22 magnum

.22mag bullets are jacketed, but if I'm not mistaken the jackets are much thinner than the bullets for most centerfire rifle cartridges. They're also not "heeled" bullets like .22lr bullets, so any seating and crimping dies designed to reload .22lr are probably useless. I think you would need a...

    Favorite SD ammo?

+P doesn't matter for revolvers. +P just means it's higher pressure, doesn't mean it has higher velocity. Higher pressure could be a good thing in a semi-auto to ensure proper cycling, it doesn't matter for a revolver. I carry Hornady Critical Duty in autos.

    350 legend Winchester

Because this exists https://www.starlinebrass.com/brass-cases/223-Basic/ but at that point .357maxAR might be the better option. Using .223 as a parent would mean using a standard (cheap and easy to find) bolt.

    350 legend Winchester

Doubtful. You can load .300blk into a .223/5.56 chamber, and that can kaboom a gun. It's just my theory but a .223 in a .350 chamber wouldn't seem too dangerous. .223 might be higher pressure but there'd be plenty of room for the excess pressure to escape with hurting the gun or shooter. Again...

What is the lightest 38 Special load?

3.1gr of Red Dot and a 158gr lswc has been a very pleasant load to shoot, and very accurate as well. In a 3" GP100 it has about the same recoil as most .22lr revolvers.

    Restricted ammo?? News

There's a federal law against civilians possessing armor piercing handgun ammo, so SS190 is illegal for civilian possession. What's wierd is the ATF didn't classify SS198LF as armor piercing but FN restricted it anyways. I think it's because it has an aluminum core bullet (the same as SS195LF...

6.5 Creedmoor won't drop in case gauge

Your gauge is most likely on the tight side of SAAMI spec and your chamber on the loose side. SAAMI calls out exact dimensions but then gives tolerances. Nothing to worry about as long as you're only using THAT ammo in THAT rifle. But you could definitely run into trouble if you try to run that...

    suspicious reply from armslist

It's either: 1. A scam Or 2. They really want the rifle and they're offering extra so you aren't turned off by doing the extra work of taking it to an FFL and having to wait for a check to clear. If you have the time to wait for a check (or whatever payment) to actually clear, your FFL...
