The 642 is tough to beat. I put Pachmyar Compac Pros on mine. I always carry one Safariland speedloader and one Bianchi speed strip. It's loaded with Corbon +P DPX.
I've had a 620 for several months now and really like it. I shot a lot of different magnum loads through it with no problem. I didn't like the rubber Hogues it came with and replaced them with Uncle Mike's with finger grooves. They fully cover the backstrap. I bought a few HKS speedloaders...
3 of 000, that would be the S&B load, right? Winchester makes a .410 load with 5 pellets of 000, which may be a better choice.
-------------------------------------------------
The 5 pellet load is a 3 inch shell, her derringer won't handle that. Same goes for my Marlin 410 levergun.
My wife's Bond Arms derringer is devastating up to 7 yards when loaded with two 410 shells each containing 3 balls of 000 Buck. The recoil is negligible because of the weight of the piece. It's simple to operate and bloody deadly.
Not only does the J-frame give you "Five For Sure", but it's a lot faster into action. You can carry any kind of ammo and not worry about functioning. Speed loaders and speed strips compliment it well.
I had an early Glock 23 and a 27, sold em both. The caliber doesn't seem to offer much except high pressure and muzzle blast. I like my 9mm's, 45acp, .38 Specials and .357 Magnums. What more do you really need?
I believe they are discontinuing most, if not all of the K-frames. They have come out with new models in L-frame to replace the 65 and 66. They are designated the 619 and 620. So far they are only available in 4", but that will probabably change.
They made the safety lever on the RAMI so small I wonder if it is really intended to be carried cocked and locked? It would be difficult to reach it in a hurry while drawing. Other than that, it's a fine little pistol. It feels a lot better in my hand than a Glock 26 and I've had one for years.
The .45acp is probably a better choice for a one-on-one upclose and personal attack, but a highcap 9mm has a decided advantage against multiple assailants. Take your pick, they are both good calibers.
