I had gotten out of shooting a year or two ago for many reasons, mostly monetary. A friend texted the other day and said "Just got my shotgun fixed, want to go skeet shooting?" I am in a much better financial situation these days so I bought my first O/U. I am about to buy a Marlin 60...
I'm thinking about buying some extra magazines for my SR40c and I was wondering if anyone besides Ruger made magazines for them. I did a little searching but didn't find anything. I don't have anything against the Ruger magazines, I just like to know all my options before I buy something.
With any luck I will be moving to the Northeast in a year or so. Once I move I plan on Sea Kayaking. Any recommendations for a pocket gun that can stand up to saltwater? Prefer something inexpensive. Anything above .22lr is welcome as a suggestion. Wheel or Auto are both fine.
I appreciate all the posts. Yes I know I am moving to a much more liberal land than I am used to. I can deal with it, my wife is a raging liberal(yes I will say that to her face) she would be very happy to live in liberal land, and a happy wife leads to a happy life.
As far as selling my...
Thanks for all the replies. Very good opportunity=doubling my salary and breaking into 6 figure income. I understand the cost of living difference. We would be moving to the Westborough area. I am a history buff so being close to Boston is a big plus. I am a kayaker and the Boston harbor...
I realize the gun laws in MA are awful, but I might have an opportunity to move my family there and it is a very good one. Just wondering what I would need to do to move my guns into the state. Also I would want to get a a concealed carry license. I currently have a license to carry in...
So have I. Of course it was full daylight. My adrenaline wasn't pumping. I had hearing protection. I took my time and shot when I was ready. I wasn't in fear for my life, etc.
On the other hand when a shooting coach gave me less than a minute to fire ten rounds at a 15 yard target...
My wife is a life long shooter and taught me how to shoot. The first time we shot together she insisted I wear safety glasses. I didn't see the point but wore them to humor her. A hot spent case from the second magazine of the day bounced off my glasses and right down my shirt. Can't imagine...
When I was about 14 I was home alone and received a strange phone call that freaked me out. Some odd things had been going on in the area. We didn't own any firearms. I called my mom and she came home. Until she got there I had my 40lb compound bow with target points at the ready.
Sorry if I missed it but have you shot before? How much will you shoot what you buy? As someone said HD shotguns kick, pistols are not easy, AKs have their own issues. They are all valid choices, just wondering if maybe you have a background shooting pistol/rifle/shotgun. If so go with what...
You said you aren't math oriented. Have you tried any applied math, especially as it relates to something you love such as firearms? I ask because math can take you far. My father in law says math didn't make sense to him until he became an electrician and had to apply it in real world...
Bought my last two guns online. SR40C because everyone was sold out locally. Savage 99 in .300 Savage because everyone locally wanted collectors prices for beat up rifles.
Greyling,
Liked your idea about the Diamondbacks. I was looking for smaller than what you linked, but I found a 10 x 28 pair for $149.00. Only 14oz. Love the unconditional lifetime warranty.
Thanks all
I have an $80 gift card from Cabelas. I am wanting to get a cheap, light pair of binoculars. These will mainly be used when hiking with my family which includes a 5 and 2 year old. I don't need anything fancy, but durable is nice. Little unsteady hands will be using these so no need for...
For Christmas I am thinking of asking someone for a pair of camo water resistant camo overalls that are made from a tough material like a Carhart jacket. I also want a blaze camo vest that at least has a fleece or padded shoulder that I could wear for hunting and occasional clay shooting. If I...
Southern U.S. here. I mainly see law enforcement with Glocks in 9mm or 40 S&W. At least one local department carries Berettas. A 12 gauge and/or an AR variant isn't uncommon in their cruiser. My hometown of ~60,000 had a .50 BMG sniper rifle but it got "lost". I am seeing more and more...
