Does anyone know where to find star bm mags or what other mags, other than sig 225 can be made to fit? Thank you in advance.

Are Ivory grips a bad idea on a carry gun?

i think that ivory is usuitable. there is no traction, as they are smooth, but the main reason is that it encourages poaching. elephants are noble creatures & shouldn't be killed for someone's vanity. go synthetic, please. handguns are for self defense & sport, & a good grip is much better than...

How would you rate this duty weapon & ammo?

    i'd rather have a 9 or a 45. just don't like the 40.too snappy.

    Rock Island 1911 question

i have one on layaway for 275(used). it's supposed to be mil-spec, so it should be serviceable w/ mil-spec replacements. i plan to get an ambi safety as i'm a lefty. i'm buying it to be able to retire my sistema (as a shooter )which would be a great choice for that kind of money-if one can be...

    Least expensive 1911 pattern 9mm?

ditto armored man. the star bm is a great pistola. shoot it once, and you'll be a fan.

    Anyone have an Astra A-400/600?

mine is very accurate & dependable(600). it's also fun to shoot. the only drawback is that due to being a blowback in 9mm, the recoil spring is very strong. this makes disassembly & reassembly a potentially dangerous task in which parts can be forcefully thrown long disances- making them easily...

    Kel Tec P32 Range report

i agree w/ all of the pros-it's a fun gun to shoot & the sights are usable.

Sistema input needed, price check, quick.

the price on these just keeps rising. i'd try to haggle down to 450 & if you really want it 475 is only 25 more.

What is the best value in used modern semi-autos right now?

as to s&ws, i traded my model 439 for an astra a100 and gained in both firepower(10 rds) & accuracy-the astra actually hit poa & tighter. the s&w claim to fame is the revolver, of which i'd much rather, and do, carry a ruger. in .38 i'd rather have the astra 960- stronger & with the transfer bar...

What is the best value in used modern semi-autos right now?

star bm. if you're talking about an all-steel 9mm., the star bm is it. it is, however, sa, but is a great gun at twice the price. it's a modern gun based on the old warhorse, the 1911, except it is compact, though heavy, & fires 9mm. a bersa is also a great value, along w/ the rugers.

Do any Police Departments still use 9mm ?

    1911's scare me...heres why

for under $800 you can easily pick up an argentine modelo 1927 sistema colt. made on colt machinery, under colt supervision, these "colts" were made w/ a stronger steel than their namesakes. mine has not been modified except for a ambie safety (i'm a southpaw), and a trigger job-sweet, and w/...

    Good Reliable $160 auto?

if you shoot the star bm, you'll be in love. the makarov is the same. being a lefty, i'd go w/ the mak as it is da & ready to go. my bm is more accurate than my mak and fires a more powerful rd, but parts for the mak are plentiful which cannot be said of the bm. both are good, dependable, well...

    which to keep

definitely get rid of th llama. i'd keep either the sig or the glock-probably(most probably definitely) the sig, but would have to shoot them 1st. if you live in or bordering n.c. & are selling at a good price, post back & i'll give you a way to e-mail or call me.

    Emergency gun

astra a100-used, of course as they're no longer made. accurate, reliable, & 17 rd mags. functions the same as a sig, including takedown lever. it is steel, however, requiring keeping it from rusting. very compact for hi-cap & once decocked, is as ready as a revolver.

    Best 1911 Clone?

clone though not really a "clone", the sitema, although they're expensive. the rock island should be the best bang for the buck. it's a plain-jane mil-spec that can be modified however one wants over time as money permits. the parts are all totally interchangeable w/ the original colt. the...
