    D/SA Revolver Won't Always Rotate?

I had the same problem with mine. A new hand spring fixed it

    Losing desire to hunt

Trying a different, more difficult game could be rewarding as well. Perhaps Mountain Lion with a bow, without using hounds or calls (glassing, tracking and stalking), coyote in the same manner, Traditional bow (if legal in your area) with hand made broadheads (flint knapping is pretty interesting).

    Replacement stock for Rem 770

The "studs" are molded in on those. I had one in .300WM that was an absolute tack driver. Shot better than the 700 that I had (go figure). I got out trusty Mr. Dremel with a drum sander and made a flat spot where the molded mounting points went. Then I drilled holes and used bolt in studs with...

    Oxidized Rifle Balls

Acetone will usually take oxidation off of balls, unless the oxidation is heavy. They should be fine for plinking rounds anyway

New... old CVA .50 sidelock. Got's me some questions.

It's a "Hawken" style gun. The CVA Hawken goes for $100-$150 round these parts, but why sell it? Mine is an excellent shooter with a .490 round ball and 60 grains of the holy black (90 gn when hunting)

    cleaning your revolvers

I break my bp revolvers all the way down every time I shoot them. It really doesn't take that much more time, and allows me to catch any problems before they show up

5OZ of BP goes in ...?

OOH!! Nitrated pantyhose!! Super thin, should burn completely away. Just cut to length, tie knots to seal the ends! Make a solution of KNO3 and water or alcohol and soak the hose, then dry them out. Should do nicely. Evap off the water or alcohol in the solution container to recover most of the...

5OZ of BP goes in ...?

Are paper lunch bags just too weak for the task? or even the white paper sacks that prescriptions come in (I'm sure you have some buddies that get their meds from the VA...a super big supply of those bags) Coffee filters perhaps? The cone shaped ones could take a charge, then be attached to...

Will classic lee loader be good enough for my 45-70 simple needs

It will work fine. I've loaded thousands of various rounds with the Lee whack a mole loaders with great success, and made my dog terrified of hammers in the process (occasional primer detonation when seating with a hammer..) Were I you, I'd go to Ebay, Craigslist, or Lee Precision, Grab a...

    ALOX?

I haven't tried it personally, but you'll want to stick with organic lubes for black powder

    45 acp cast bullets - can I load these in 45LC ?

Just too much crimp there. Use a lighter roll crimp and they should feed fine

    Load all six at once.

for $25, I'm gonna order one right now. I'll give her a shot

    "Shimming" barrel to fit lathe?

    RC, he did, I misread

How do you guys clean your brass?

I haven't, but I would assume it would do a pretty decent job. It would likely take a bit longer to get a similar shine, and wouldn't clean the primer pockets or flash holes quite as well IMO. Next time I get some range pickups, I'll split a batch in half and try both ways to find out

    "Shimming" barrel to fit lathe?

Turning between centers prior to facing the breech and bore is also an option. That will give you bore to barrel concentricity in the easiest manner, though to turn between centers, you'll need to take much lighter cuts to keep from bringing the barrel to a halt.

How do you guys clean your brass?

I wet tumble with SS pins. The brass looks freaking brand new inside and out. It cleans the primer pockets and flash holes as well, since I decap prior to tumbling. I shoot in the woods or desert, so shiny brass helps with brass recovery. I place my pins and brass in the tumbler, add a squirt of...

What brand bullets is everyone using? 9mm,45ACP, 223

I cast and powdercoat everything except .223 (military 55 gn pull downs till I make a swage die set) and .22lr (anything I can find)

    Marvelux Sucks!

I just use a bit of bees wax. When I'm smelting ingots, a handful of sawdust does the trick.

    double duece

Is this not considered a destructive device because it runs BP cartridges?

Were you tense shooting your first reload?

My first reload was a 9mm with a lee whack a mole. I fired it out of a Glock 19. I loaded it at the bottom end of the scale, and really wasn't worried about firing it. What made me nervous was priming with the lee whack a mole kit. I snapped primers regularly until I got the hang of it. My dog...
