I always advertise why I am getting rid of a gun. Some I shoot a few hundred rounds and find out I don't like it and other times I never send a round through it.
But if you are an avid gun shooter shouldn't you be able to tell when a gun has several thousand rounds worth of wear? My two...
Depends on the gun. Heck, I have some guns that I shot a few times and never bothered cleaning. If I shoot 10 rounds and it needs a detailed strip then it doesn't belong in my collection. Of course corrosive ammo, fragile finished/wood and collectables get different treatment.
I will go...
I'd have:
Glock 20 even without a .40 conversion barrel you can shoot .40 when you're in a bind. This will be primarily for defense from 2 legged critters. Also, be able to use for hunting.
Full size .357 revolver. Can use for in the woods hunting, back up if you down something and need to...
Slow down there cowboy. I rarely carry. When I do carry I'm not looking to be a hero. It's mostly carry to and from range or transporting firearms. So it will mostly be a close range encounter. I won't be trying to shoot someone with my handgun at 100 yards.
And, just went to the range...
Haha, I have not gone shooting in years. Kids, work fixing cars etc have kept me away from the range.
Not my youngest is in kindergarten so I have a few free days during the week.
A while back I switched to 40 for carry and range. So, I sold my XD9. But, I didn't sell my 9mm ammo.
Since I...
Today I was going through some S&B primers I bought from Cabela'sa few years back. Low and behold, I had the foresight to buy 2k of small rifle. I don't reload any small rifle yet.
Or I can sell them for $1 a primer. That would be evil. (I'm not gonna sell them.)
I buy what I need, not what I want.
If I need 2 50 packs to go plinking and the shelf has 4 packs I pick up what I need (2)
Lucky me I am stocked up from when ammo wasn't so tough to find.
I have the slightest twitch. I think it's a caffeine thing. So I've had a time where I twitched the trigger while on target but not aimed and another time I pulled the trigger intentionally once and inadvertently double tapped. Because of that I never put my finger in the trigger guard unless...
I have reloaded for my 10mm for a while. For the longest time I only had the factory barrel. Gen 2.5 and Gen 4 G29s. I typically loaded from moderate to heavy and even shot some heavy Underwood through it. Had zero safety issues and I always checked my brass before loading it again.
I do...
So I always resize with my decapping pin in. Even if the case has already deprimed. Helps with the media or random gunk blocking the flash hole.
I had a similar situation. I dropped a small amount of new primers on the floor. Somehow I must have picked up a spent primer and loaded up a round...
I load my plinking 10mm over .2 grains over the staring load. I trust my powder drop .2gr on either side and feel safe. This way in case I load an over loaded case or someone else's bulged but repaired case that I picked up I should be safe.
Anything more powerful I hand weigh every load...
1. Glock 29 (own)
2. Colt AR (own)
3. SP101 (own)
4. Wingmaster (own)
5. Some .308 rifle (do not own yet)
Reasons why.
1. I like to shoot this one believe it or not. Plus I have a few conversion barrels. .40/9x25/10mmx5". Have a bunch of short 10 round and full size 15 round mags.
2...
What is your objective? Sell a few boxes when someone buys a gun or be a shop that everyone says is the only place in town to buy ammo from.
Just a few boxes? Maybe hit up a few websites and buy yourself a modest stock in various calibers.
If you want to be the spot to buy ammo. Try hitting...
