Hello all! I'd really like to try loading some 9mm from one of the companies making Hi-tek coated bullets, but there seems to be a real lack of solid info about them.
The only thing that seems to ring true in all my looking is that the case mouth has to be flared a bit more than FMJ or plated...
Is there a rule of thumb you fellows use when making up new loads? Are you making five, ten, twenty rounds of each load to see how they shoot off the bench?
Has anyone ever used 140gr bullets for their M1? Seems at matches and such, everyone is using either surplus ammo, or 168gr Nosler or Matchking bullets in reloads.

I just finished my very first loads- 60 rounds for my Garand.
147gr pull down .308 bullets.
Greek HXP surplus brass with primer crimps removed.
Winchester Large Rifle Primers.
47.5gr IMR 4895.
Finished cartridges are the exact same length as the Greek HXP from CMP.
