It's a personal choice, and depends greatly on how you are shooting. Got a rest? More power. No rest? Less power. Old eyes? More power. Young eyes? Less.
The only problem with power is that it also magnifies any movement in the gun.

I see this as being one and the same question faced by new shooters looking to buy their first handgun.
If they have hands like mine, I'd recommend a Walther PPQ. Personally, I prefer the 9mm, but there is a mote powerful 40 cal version.

17" hold over at 100 yards? The maximum point blank range is 100 yards +/- 5 yards.... so the maximum drop should only be 6 inches.
Am I missing something?
