What 45 acp bullets are you using

I used to shoot 230 FMJ, then plated, then 230 cast Oregon Trail and MBC, then a friend introduced me to 200 LSWCs. I’ve never looked back to 230 since! Some say I’m frugal trying to spread the lead a little farther, others say I’m just downright TIGHT! Even been thinking of trying 185, just...

    NC WTB .267 carcano bullets

Has anyone had any luck finding the .267 Carcano Bullets? Hornady used to make them a while back, Hornady #2645, 160gr. Im afraid they are a thing of the past! Thanks in advance Catpop

    .35 Remington handloads are keyholing

Just fired some fresh reloads through my 1960 -+/- Marlin 336 RC. I used 26.1 grains IMR 3031

    .38 Short Colt

I finally got to put 5 more down range. I put 5 in a 2” group from 11 yards. Nothing great, but better than any of my 38 spc groups THAT day. I’m going to try some 100-125 gr RN next. Add: I was using snub nose this time instead of 4” SW10. Add: I found some West Coast 124 grain pc and loaded 5...

    .38 Short Colt

First test was spectacularly better!!! 2nd test fell on its face evidently due to operator error!!!! I couldn’t hit a bull in the ass with a spade that day! Anyone else ever experience this rare phenomena? 3rd test coming soon!

    .38 Short Colt

I made up a few more cases from 38 spc. I used the 38 spc cases that were beginning to neck split! Man, am I cheap or what?

    .38 Short Colt

I couldn’t stand it and had to go try this 38 Short Colt thing! I cut down five 38 spc cases with a 4 1/2” grinder and cutoff disc. I finished them up on my Lyman universal trimmer. I loaded them up with 2.2 gr BE and seated some 148 gr pc DEWCs (sized after pc to .358.) Rather than set up all...

    .38 Short Colt

I just read Brad Miller’s article in the Feb 23 issue of Shooting Times. It really got me to thinking. Anyone reloading this cartridge? Can .38 Short Colt brass be made from .357 mag brass simply by reducing the length?

45 ACP lead bullet missing wax seal

The gas seal is the boolit/bullet to bore fit. And the groove is for the lube a lead projectile (boolit) requires to keep lead from coating the bore. You’re doing great here buddyd157. Keep it up!

    .38 SPL and MBC's 105gr coated TCFP

Never tried 105s or 125s. But I am quite satisfied with 148-150 wadcutters over 2.7 BE. I, being quite frugal to put it politely, may give 105s a spin if I ever use up the pounds of 150s I have on hand. Hey 45 gr is quite a savings in lead! I did mention I was tight didn’t I?

    Dillon 550 vs turret press

550 tool heads are a really quick change operation UNTIL you figure in changing shell plates and even worse, primer size. Primer changes sometime require a little minor twicking as you go. In future I would love to have 2 550s- one dedicated to small primer and one for large primer. I’ve found...

Your Bullseye substitute for 45/38 SWC/HBWC target shooting?

For 45 and 38 target I like BE, but yes, presently very hard to get. I also like RD, HP38, Universal, unique, and Nitro 100. Nitro 100 is one of the most accurate 45 acp powders I ever shot.

Using Powder that is probably 40+ years old

I’m still using IMR 3031 from 1971 with no issues. But as others have stated, I definitely would NOT use clumped powder.
