I have a Marlin 782 I bought new back in 1989. It's plenty accurate, but the trigger is just horrible. I've seen several complaints about the older 78x series triggers. Not familiar with the newer Marlin 22 WMRs.
I have an old Mossberg M42C .22lr (WWII trainer) that belonged to my grandfather. Extremely solid and rugged for a .22lr. It's seen some abuse through the years but doesn't flinch.
