I want to purchase a semi auto rifle which I can hunt deer with (.223 is illegal in VA) but I want something more than just a hunting rifle. I was looking at the Ruger Mini 30 but not sure of the quality... I'm looking to spend less than 1500. I'm not that interested in an SKS or most Russian stuff.
