    Help with CZ527

A 1 in 9 twist at 3000 fps is turning at 250,000 rpm I would try a heavier bullet and some benchmark or H335. good luck and shoot straight Bob

    Remington 700

I would give it to a gunsmith for re barreling. There are so many 700 ADL out there that getting a decent price is rare. A 24" 6.5X55 would be pretty sweet. Good luck in any case Bob

    Jack Russells for hunting

I hunt rabbits with a good friend and he runs a pack of 5 some short legged beagles and beagle jack russell mix dogs. Been hunting them for a long time the 2 mixed dogs are amazing. My friend boasts they could find rabbits in the Walmart parking lot. Good luck and shoot straight Bob

    Sako Mod 85 Bavarian Carbine

I also have never met a Sako I did not like and that Bavarian Carbine is one beautiful firearm. I have 2 85's and a 75 all shoot great and put together really well. The 20" barrel handicaps the 260 though. Good luck and shoot straight Bob

    .260 or .257

Which barrel length are you considering for your AR build. If you are going with a 24" I would take the 260 hands down. The 20" bbl will cripple the 260 and the 257 Roberts likes a 22" bbl. The 260 in 1 in 8 or 1 in 9 twist and 24" will make a great medium to long range firearm. It will be on...

    Strange coyote behavior?

I would imagine this is the time of year when coyotes are mating. I know foxes are mating and there cant be much difference. They've been known to mate with dogs and wolves for that matter otherwise we would never see the 70 pound coyotes I have seen in Canada. I don't know if they would eat...

    Scope for .22 Hornet

I have a Zeiss Conquest on my 527 it looks good. That 3-9x40 is a real good scope for the money. If I had it here I would attach an image the rifle is at the camp. I have not been that impressed with the Nikon's as well Good luck and shoot straight Bob

Recomend a climbing stand for a heavy weight?

All the summit climbers are listed at 350 pounds. They are very comfortable for long sits and with the optional rifle rest you can shoot to 300 pretty well. The Titan is the biggest from memory. Doesn't give you much room for equipment though. Good luck and shoot straight Bob

    300 WSM Opinions

The 300 WSM is a wonderfully accurate firearm. I would disagree with the statement that recoil is similar to 30-06 levels. I fired the 300 wsm from an ultralight firearm and found recoil levels to be on the verge of offensive from a 7 pound firearm. It has 5 to 10 grains more case capacity than...

    Climbing Stand Question(s)

I hunt out of a summit goliath now and have for about 5 years. It is the best stand I have hunted from... Get the rifle rest attachment and you will be ready to shoot to 300 quite well. I hunted from a loggy bayou and a gorrilla climber I still hunt from the gorrilla but the summit is my go to...

    .22lr Accuracy at 100 Yards

I used to shoot in 200 yard NRA matches in MA over 20 years ago at Old Colony in Duxbury and there were plenty of 22lr shooters that held their own with Win 52's and Anschuts. That little rifle is capable of exceptional accuracy at 100 yds Good luck and shoot straight Bob

    Bore guides

I like the sinclair units you can buy them with the oring snouts for most popular calibers. If I had a problem with them they're a little short. Good luck and shoot straight Bob

    .270 Win pet load

My Weatherby Accumark likes 60gr of VV N-560 over a 210m primer and a 130 NAB its a 24" 1 in 10. It will shoot 5 in a hole about the size of a dime. Lot's of options out there. Good luck and shoot straight Bob

Sako or Savage in 300 Wsm?

Jcox265 You will not be upset with the quality, fit and finish of the SAKO 85. They make one fine firearm. Good luck and shoot straight Bob

    6.5-06 resizing

I thought about the 25-06 brass. Opted to go the Lapua route instead still could go with Norma 25-06 brass but have been so impressed with Lapua that it seems the best value. I don't have a 25-06 and my only 30-06 has been sold recently. I do have a 270 win. But thanks for the advice on...

    6.5-06 resizing

Hi All, Am in the process of creating new 6.5-06 brass from some new 30-06 Lapua brass. The question I have is there a need to fire form with a reduced load cream of wheat etc or just shoot minimum load with the firearm. My first attempt at reforming has left a bit of a donut in front of...
