300 fps is basically the same speed as a paint ball. They can leave a bad welt if hit close range and the ball does not break. I think it would depend on the bullet weight and the type of bullet if it could even break skin. If it did, the penetration would likely not be life threatening.

I had to send my M&P Shield back due to the mag dropping issue. They fixed it very quickly and returned it right away with shipping paid. I think it was only 2 or 3 weeks total.

I have a Shield .40. For the first 500 rounds I had no issues, then suddenly the magazines began to drop out while firing. Not 100% of the time, but enough to become a serious issue during a CCW class. It wasn't an issue of hitting the magazine release, and was verified by several instructors...
