How many generations do your guns go back?

It's surprising to me that the poll shows that 11 families so far have had firearms for 3 generations (grandparent to grandchild), and only 7 families so far have had guns for 2 generations (parent to child). I would have thought these numbers would be closer to even. Maybe it would be if this...

How many generations do your guns go back?

Cool stuff, guys. It's neat to hear about where your firearms come from. I forgot to mention that along with the 16 gauge, my grandfather's uncle gave him two revolvers (probably 32S&W). Unfortunately, they were stolen from his house in the 80s. The robbers dumped out his sock drawer and heard...

SAAMI video on ammunition and fire fighter safety

I wish they would have done the drop test with rimfire ammo. That would have been interesting. Did you ever try any steel cased 5.56, 7.62x39, 7.62x54r or similar types like what many of us have cases of?

How many generations do your guns go back?

Recently, my grandpa gave my dad his Lefever Arms 16 gauge double barrel, that I believe was made in 1913, and now it's been given to me. I already have a thing for the gun, as it was my grandpa's, plus, it's a pretty nice shotgun, to boot. Even neater is that my grandpa was given the shotgun...

    How's your ammo supply?

Super low on everything but 12 gauge birdshot and 7.62x54r. Less than 150 rds of 22lr :(

    .22WRF rifle identification/value

That's what the person on the other forum thought his was, the 53. What makes mine the 53, and not the 55 like someone else on here suggested? And if it were a special run gun, it wouldn't really be worth more for that reason, would it?

    Help I.D. this ammo, please?

Haha neat info! I did see somewhere online where someone did a test of a bunch of 8mm ammo, and found the Winchester Super Speed to be the worst performer by far. I think it was about 200fps slower than the next higher one.

    .22WRF rifle identification/value

Okay, thanks. Do you know if the .22WRF was a regular option, or did it have to be custom ordered?

    .22WRF rifle identification/value

Wow. I didn't know that. I'll keep an eye out for it. So it looks like you prefer the new Winchester to the CCI? I picked up two boxes of CCI, and haven't seen any Winchester around. Also, do you buy online when the companies make a run of it? Or just buy it as you see it in person? Because I...

    .22WRF rifle identification/value

Thanks for your quick response. That's kind of what I figured. I'm happy with that, though. I only spent $100 on it, and I was considering buying a more powerful rimfire than a .22LR, and a .22WMR or a .17HMR would have cost a lot more than that. I'll be testing it on Saturday, so we'll see how...

    .22WRF rifle identification/value

Hello, I'd like to get some help identifying my Stevens Buckhorn chambered in .22wrf. I'm not even sure of the exact model, but it does say Stevens Buckhorn Rifle on the bottom of the barrel just infront of the stock. It's a single shot, and has .22wrf on the left side of the barrel just below...

    Help determine ammo's value?

You're good Havok. They do seem to be going for that much on gunbroker. I saw my local gun shop has them for $25 a box, but his prices are usually kinda low.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the info. I'll know to look at that from now on.

    Help determine ammo's value?

Alright thanks. I thought $1.50 might be high, as I think I've seen new Remington in stores for $1 a piece.

    Help I.D. this ammo, please?

I might be buying a digital caliper soon. If I do, I'll check it and post back.

    Help I.D. this ammo, please?

I don't think they're reloads. The primers look the same as other pics I've found, as do the bullets themselves. I did find this Gunbroker ad showing flat pointed bullets on the Winchester box, itself. The headstamp is in a slightly different font than on mine, and says 8MM MAUSER, instead of...
