No Pat, it is slightly narrower than the trigger guard. When I first saw it I vowed to take it off but doesn't negatively affect anything and feels good so I will probably leave it.

Anyone have experience with the Burris rings with the plastic inserts. They look like a great idea to me. You can change insert sizes to increase range and the rings won't scratch your scope.
