OP, does that range have steel? My range has an 8"-10"-12" gongs at the 300 yd mark, and a full size whitetail silhouette. It's great off-hand practice. There are few things that give me greater satisfaction than hearing the ping at 300 yds.
I did a (one) Krav Maga introductory class. Made me realize that I really do not know how to fight.
The little girls (20 ish?) who had been doing this for a few months would have pounded me into the ground, let alone a guy who knows how to fight.
Big ego check !!
Was gonna sign-up for the...
I sold a used Lee Hand Press on an e-bay auction.
Got $122 for it.

When the auction was active, mid- late Dec. Midway had 'em priced at $41 and change.
Reloading gear is unobtainum right now. If you have stuff you wanna sell, e-bay is...
I have had this gun since 1975. Dad bought it used. It has seen many years in the deer woods and even killed a few. I haven't hunted with it for 20 yrs.
It's been relegated to knocking over steel rams at 500 meters and his smaller friends at closer distances for the last 15 yrs. Roughly 400...
The cryo treatment option is very intriguing. I may try that route just out of curiosity. I need to think about it. Thanks for all the replies. Special thanks to catman42!!
Though what Llamm Bob says makes perfect sense.
Seeing my reply ,in type, has given me a "moment of clarity".
The gun...
I shoot a Mauser 98 chambered in .30-06 for Hi-Power Silhouette. I have shot maybe 2000 rds through this one. No idea how many before I got it, though the "story" dad was told was it was a WWII gun. I got it in 1975.
Last year I noticed that my shots would shoot to the right as the barrel...
Was doing site-in at a Hi-Power Silhouette match. I was shooting a .243. As I was getting on target, my scope went black for a split second. I looked up and an older guy was walking down the line..... in front of the shooters!! I hollered 'Cease fire, cease fire" and proceeded to give him a...
My experience is the that all nylon brushes do is separate you from your money.
I bought nylon brushes for all of the calibers that I have. Took a lot of scrubbing ( and more scrubbing, and then more scrubbing) to do the job. My copper solvent of choice was Sweet's.
I only use bronze brushes...
I put my brushes and such in a "pocket" tackle box. The ones that have 5 or 6 trays on each side. They cost about $5.
You have to engrave the caliber size as the cleaning solvent dissolves the magic marker.
I remember my High School math teacher telling us to do 5 measurements. Toss out the high one and the low one, then average the others.
Reason was the high and low were anomalies. Probably different now, but that is how I was taught, and that is how I measure my trigger pulls.
milemaker, the only gun that matters to you is your gun. Get some and test it. What works for others may or may not work for you.
Every gun is an entity unto itself.
It isn't the size of the gun, it's the size of the pocket.
I carry a full size, 5" .45...in my pocket.
Get a pair of Duluth Trading Post "Fire Hose Pants" or "Fire Hose Flex Pants". That big pocket gobbles up a 1911.
I read somewhere that you have to "dress around the gun." These pants are...
