I have a SP-01 and love it. I've had and sold 3 M&P 1.0s. So I have not had experience with the 2.0. Although I have sold all of my M&Ps it's not because I didn't like them. I just not like them as much as some other striker fired pistols that I own. If I had to choose between these two I...
Shorter barrels=better inherent accuracy. It is the loss of velocity that will be your limiter for long range stuff with this firearm. With 7.62x39 it should be about the same as a 16" barrel.
I have one and really enjoy it. I also have an AR15 pistol with brace. If I had to do it again I would skip the AK pistol and just stick with the rifle length AK. I think the AR makes a better pistol because of (slightly) less recoil. That being said, the 7.62x39 is way more effective out of a...
I just put a set of Wilson Tactical Vickers sights on mine. Black rear with U-notch and red fiber optic front.
As far as the Ceracote goes, Unless you have a sight pusher it can get messed up really easily. I managed to mess mine up bad enough that I ended up sending it in to have a new...
That may be what Canik claims but I managed to mess mine up pretty well when installing Wilson Combat Vickers sights so I'm not so sure about the parkerized finish underneath.
Still the Canik is a really nice pistol. I'd rather shoot it than any Glock I own.
GEN4, back straps, texture, beavertail, Larger mag release............I like them all better on Gen4. Also, I think the triggers are more consistent on the Gen4 guns. The other Gens seemed to be really hit or miss with the triggers.
I've never ordered a police trade-in online but I have bought a G17 and M&P9 trade-in in the past. Both were practically brand new. The M&P9 had all backstraps, 3 magazines, and night sights dated less than 1 year old all for $299. Good deals are available if you are willing to look.
I've done side by side comparisons with the G17, G19, and VP9. The G19 and VP9 are almost the exact same size once you insert the magazine into the G19 because the magazine on the G19 sticks out past the bottom of the grip where on the VP9 the magazine is enveloped by the grip.
There are plenty of good used guns to be had for $300. Just this summer I picked up a Beretta 92fs for $275 and it is one of the sweetest shooting pistols I own. The same day I picked up a S&W M&P9 with night sights and 3 mags for $299. If you are looking for something new I recently bought a...
I agree with Kiln. Buy the TP9SA. I own or have shot just about every high cap 9mm being produced. Until the TP9SA I always said my favorite was my VP9 but I didn't like that it is only 15+1 but the same size as so many 17+1 pistols. I just recently bought a TP9SA and I feel that it is very...
I have shot both. I really like the FN. That being said the Canik is my favorite pistol ever (so far). The trigger is great. For me, it points like an extension of my arm. Capacity is 18+1. The only thing I don't like is the decocker but that can be disabled and if the Canik TP9SF is ever...
I picked one up last weekend used, some slide wear, one 15 round mag for $279. Turns out it is an awesome shooter. I'm really happy and that's all that counts :)
I had a M&P9 about 3 years ago with a terrible gritty trigger. I sold it quickly. Then I bought a used M&P9 with full apex carry kit and I added the aluminum trigger. It is great! Then last weekend I found a great deal on a police trade in M&P9 with a November 2014 manufacture date with night...
I, too, agree with Wally. My EDC is a G17 that I sent to One Source Tactical to have milled for an RMR. I have the auto adjust battery model RM01. I think it is important to have backup iron sights with this setup. Also, as an added bonus, this setup is great for one handed manipulations.
