Pretty much have had a sample of everything the major mfg. have to offer but I'm thinking of something different. Never had a H&K or an FN, other than my High Power.
Don't want anything striker fired, strictly hammer fired DA/SA.
What do my fellow forum members recommend. ;)
I have two Kimbers, a Super Match in 45ACP and a Target II in 10mm. Both are very accurate pistols but they are in the realm of target shooting only. Both have been back to the mother ship for numerous problems, most notably the self disintegrating adjustable sights.
The biggest problem I have...
My 40+ year Gold Cup has never failed me and will never leave my possession. but after all those years the trigger is now in the 1.5/2lb. range, way to light for carry or defense use, still in all if you asked me to wager on a bullseye shoot it would be my #1 choice. :)
My only interest in the punybellum was the cheap ammo price's when I was too lazy to reload. Nowadays that ship has sailed so reloading the Super works for me. I cringe at the thought of using my small pistol primers on the punybellum. :barf:
You must not be a fisherman, the ability to open your knife with one hand is a god send when standing in a trout stream with one hand holding the tackle. :p
My fascination with OTF's began when I was around 12 a friend's father brought home a 6" German dagger from the war. Darn thing would punch a hole through sheet metal when activated. Never seen one like it since. Always thought Italian Stilettos were useless because they had no cutting edge...
Ouch! I think .004 is perfect, my 78 Python is probably the most accurate because I've been shooting it for over 40 years, single action pull is somewhere around 11/2 to 2 lbs. Next most accurate is the Smith 6" 629 pre-lock but what has become my current most favorite is the 4" Cobra target...
Just out of curiosity I checked the gap of my revolvers. Always set my Dan Wesson at .004 thousands which works great, but my fixed barrel guns are as follows:
1978 Colt Python (My most accurate revolver) .006
Colt King Cobra Target .004
2022 Colt...
The wonderful land of stinken has recently legalized automatic knives for those with a valid F.O.I.D.
Always had a fascination with OTF's so I bought a Benchmade Infidel, a bit of a disappointment as the blade won't fully extend if it comes in contact with something on the way out.
Fell in love...
Always carried a Colt Gold Cup for 40 years, then I decided to update and modernize, you know get with the 21st century. So I went ahead and bought a Dan Wesson Valor Bobtail, now I'm up to date.:neener:
I would use the number 1 manstopper a .357 magnum for home defense were it not for the muzzle blast and deafening report. 10mm is about the same.
Instead I choose a 1911 in 45 ACP because big & slow is the way to go. :p
