What are/ were your LEAST favorite milsurps and why?

1903 Springfield believe it or not. I had two with the "scant" stocks on them. Brutal to shoot. Traded them both despite their excellent condition.

What have you fired this week?

Took out the Glock and the browning buckmark the other day for some cold weather practice. Enjoying the snow free winter while it lasts, because the cold is coming...

    Airgun forums have sure changed!

My experience is primarily with Anschutz PCP's from my days of Olympic 10m air gun. IMO the 9015 is the best PCP money can buy, if you have the pockets for it from a precision stand point. They're fantastically accurate.

    Missouri high tech coating ?

Hi-Tek bullets are outstanding. I use them in all my semi-autos. I've read that they are A-OK in glock's polygonal barrles, that powder coating is real tough, but I do not have any first hand experience. My glock 19 has a Barsto conventionally rifled barrel in it. My revolvers are MBC uncoated...

Quick 20 minute brass - Good enough to reload?

Load them and shoot them. You'll be fine. I've loaded god only knows how many dirty cases in my time. As long as there is not actual mud or grit you can feel with your fingers you should be A ok.

Thanks man! I hope I can pull the funds together this year for it. PhD salaries are pretty modest. I've been putting it off for a long time!

MBC - 9mm SWC Hi Tek. Any Experience?

Here are the two ladder tests for anyone interested. I do not have a Chronograph, so I do not have velocity data. My load data was taken from the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook. OAL - 1.075 Titegroup- 3.6, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9, and 4.0 Grains Winchester Small Pistol Primer OAL - 1.045, which is seated...

    2019 Rifle Goals?

I was thinking of starting with a base Savage Model 12 LRP. Getting the feel for the ins and outs of longer range shooting, then slowly building off the action. Chassis, new barrel, new trigger etc. I love the savage actions since they can be easily re barreled without a lathe. Thoughts?

MBC - 9mm SWC Hi Tek. Any Experience?

Thank you for introducing me to RMR bullets. I have been wanting to develop a few new plated loads. I think Ill give them my business! I also wrote MBC to share my experience. Maybe they'll have some advice. They've always been very good to me.

MBC - 9mm SWC Hi Tek. Any Experience?

Thanks for sharing your experience! I wanted to try them for the exact same reason, nice clean wad cutter holes. I had pulled the remainder of my un-shot ones and found no appreciable change in diameter in the pulled bullets. Unfortunately I have tried both avenues, seated long and short to no...

MBC - 9mm SWC Hi Tek. Any Experience?

Barrel Slugged at .3545 Bullets are .356. I will add I have used their 124 grain cone, which slugs out to .356, with great success in the same gun. I'd disagree a bit. So far my lead experience has been incredibly easy

MBC - 9mm SWC Hi Tek. Any Experience?

First off I do not mean this in anyway to disparage Missouri Bullet Company. I am a long time customer of their and many of their bullets I load in the thousands. That said. I recently bought 500 of the 125 Grain SWC Hi Tek coated 9mm bullets. I have to say, I don't think I've ever had a worse...

    .223 brass for Bolt Action

For a bolt gun? Do yourself a favor and buy 100 Lapua Cases. With neck sizing they'll last you 8-10 reloads easy. No culling or excessive case prep necessary.

    .224 Valkyrie buyer beware!

Thanks for the report! I've been avoiding .224 Valkyrie like the plague and will continue to do so. I think maybe you're getting caught in that initial development cycle. You never want to buy the first generation of a new model car sort of thing ;)
