I don't have a ton of wind exposure here at home but I still have flagging tape to give me a little idea of whats going on.
Tied to the corn cob holder....
I suppose its insignificant for me because I just dump it down by the bullet trap, lots more lead than my tumblers have ever created down there and I gather it up to remake bullets out of what I can.
If any chemistry nerd wants to see how much lead they can precipitate from 11lbs off highly...
I have an Air Tag that works has a battery that has to be changed from time to time. Know someone who has sold these for years at dealership. https://www.lojack.com/
I'm the same way on a lot of the projects I build using things I already have.
Looks like a fun project and well done. Thank you for the additional pictures of your work.
I think the mods here would rather us just post them on other forums. ;)
My problem is opposite, give me a flat place to mount a press to and it becomes a reloading bench. Need a bigger room in the house...
It the past I have utilized the parts that come with their conversion kits for the actual feeding, not just the tube filling part. Like on my annealer. Until the case is base down in my machine, its all stuff that Dillon made and just drops into my machine.
Lately there have been some pretty inexpensive versions I have seen and was wondering how well they do.
If you have one, I'd be interested what it is, how you use it (what psi/volume are you using/filling) and what you think? Thanks.
I can't always tell by looking at them.
Some stuff looks suspicious and others might not. How about a "guess what case is thinning out" test?
If you answered both, you have a good eye for it.
FWIW I caught the case on the right by how much it needed to be trimmed. Something to take note of.
Yes, it is the spot where the case is stretching apart. Looks like this, shove the case all the way on and thats the thickest part of the web.
Now the case is tapered so you should expect it to go down as you move towards the neck.
But if it goes down and then comes back up, you just...
When I see that, this is the next thing I reach for.
Measures wall thickness without the need to destroy the case. No guessing or feeling, just reading. If the dial goes down and back up, the case is ready for recycling. If its normal, I continue on with the process.
Might be a terminology problem on my end. A die that is able to size a case to minimum case tolerance is fine with me for a multi rifle for given die/setting.
I just don't need one that makes them smaller than minimum or "under".
If the chamber was cut too small to accept a correctly sized case and it requires one under normal size or smaller, it would need to be fed the "under" size brass up until it was fixed with a reamer and properly chambered.
If your chamber is fine and your just sizing the brass more than needed...
