    Berry's Plated 9x18...Discontinued?

Does anyone know if Berry's plated 9x18 95 gr. RN are still available? They are no longer listed on their website. They're all I've ever used in 9mm Mak.

    Definition of "Heavily Armed"

Obviously, heavily armed is an AK-57 Uzi Radar Laser Triple-Barreled Double-Scoped Heat-Seeking Shotgun!

Bigtime facepalm, CNN says Navy yard shooter had an AR15 shotgun.

I ate at the AR-15 Taco Bell today, I hope I didn't cross Obama's red line!

    Insurance and arming teachers

A car with an alarm system and airbags has a lower premium, but armed teachers would raise premiums? Armed teachers seem like a safety feature to me.

What is it about revolvers we like so much?

You can try hard, but you still can't get barrel/cylinder flash with an auto:

Defense Distributed: Successful test fire of first 3D printed pistol (video)

They're already on trying to regulate 3D "assault printers": http://israel.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1178:with-announcement-of-fully-plastic-gun-rep-israel-stresses-need-for-revamped-undetectable-firearms-act&catid=57:2013-press-releases...

    Most complicated firearm you've disassemled

Complicated? 1896 Mauser Broomhandle. Fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, though. Pain in the neck? Ruger mark III. No gun should require a rubber mallet to assemble/disassemble. The mark II's didn't have this problem, why do the mark III's?

Why Do People Reload When ...

When you reload, ammunition price is not a factor in the purchase of a new gun. When I used to own a .45-70 marlin, I think I was loading 50 rounds for $6 or $7, while store bought ammo was $30 for a 20 round box.

Concealed Carriers, do you carry spare magazines?

Usually I carry a CZ-82. On the opposite side I normally carry two spare mags, this helps balance the weight out. There may be 12 rounds per mag but there is only one spring in each. When it decides to take a crap it would be a good idea to have another spring handy, and on the whole it is...

    best gun in 9x18

I own both a P-64 and CZ-82. I have never owned or shot a Makarov or any other 9x18 pistols. That said, if someone offered me 1700 rounds of 9x18 for $100 I would be all over that like flies on a poop. Buy anything chambered in 9x18 and you'll be good to go.

Playing the probabilities in a robbery...

Past is no guarantee of future. In the last month and a half there have been a string of 8 armed robberies around here (Jonesboro, AR). First 6, no shots fired. 7th, shots fired. 8th, they got caught about two hours after the robbery. It is suspected that the same 2-man crew that were caught...

    Unregistered Revolver in Michigan

MI has had pistol registration since the 1920's IIRC. I think you can contact the state police and as long as you have the make, model and serial number they should be able to get you a new green card if it was registered.

    Panic buy and gangsters/ammo

Why would it affect them? We've had 7 armed robberies (perp was armed with a gun, not a knife) in the last month where I live. Only the most recent one has resulted in the perp firing shots, and then, only 3 at that. If you're a criminal, you don't need ammo to commit any crime unless you...

Remington "Golden Bullet" 22 ammo- unsatisfied!

I was a range officer at a small indoor range for a couple of years. The range normally only bought Federal to sell to the club members because that was what we had the best luck with in the range-owned pistols. When Federal wasn't available and we had no choice but to buy something else, it...

Do more people own longguns vs. handguns? Personal Observation.

I own six times as many pistols as I do rifles, currently. Except for when I only owned 1 gun, (my first gun, which was an AR-15) I have always owned more pistols than rifles.

    P64

What do you mean by difficulty firing DA? The DA trigger pull should be at least 20lb, if it has not been modified. I think mine is 22. I would tear the slide apart and look for crud in the firing pin hole, and/or broken parts. Maybe something is wedged in there.

Thoughts on Background Checks for private sales?

I used to have to deal with background checks for FTF sales. It was not enjoyable in the least. I moved to Arkansas from Michigan earlier this year. In MI, in order to buy a handgun (did not matter if you were buying FTF or from an FFL), you had to go to the police station, have a background...

CCW - Do you use the safety?

I am curious on the viewpoints of other people who CCW. My wife's aunt thinks I am some kind of a nutcase for not having the safety on when I carry a gun (At the time, I was carrying a P64 with stock springs - it has something like a 22lb DA trigger pull). I am not trying to "prove" myself to...

Essential First Aid for Shooting Range

I would add, in addition to everything already posted: make sure you have a way to contact the emergency services. I was present when an ND occurred at an indoor range, and the shooter injured himself. To call 911 two people had to run out the door, down 100 feet of hallway, up two flights of...
