Marlin 336 in 35 Remington Questions

My favorite firearm that I own is my Marlin336 in .35 Rem. My son has taken it over but I still used it to take a nice 10 pointer this year. I have only shot the LeverEvolution rounds out of mine and they perform very well on deer. I typically get exit holes from 2-3 inches wide depending on the...

Talk A Noob Through Concealed Carry 380s

I work in LE and carry everday on duty. Off duty I carry concealed everywhere and I have a drawer full of discarded holsters and some CC handguns that I don't carry anymore in the safe. Started off thinking like you and got a small .380 Keltec and while I love that little gun and it shoots...

    CVA Scout V2 in .357

I like Burris. I have several of their scopes. I may try that one. Do you like 2x magnification for handgun better than 4x?

    CVA Scout V2 in .357

Wonder how a scout scope would perform on a handgun like this that you hold with two hands and aren't fully extended. Less eye relief than a pistol scope. Might work. Leupold makes a Long eye relief scope that isn't a pistol scope.

    What Pistol do you carry.

I put my Glock 19 in the safe and switched to a Smith and Wesson Shield. Love that little gun. Coupled with a N82 Tactical holster I don't think it can be beat for daily carry. I now only carry the Glock 19 in movie theatre's, shopping malls, schools(LEO so I can carry anywhere), crowded places...

    CVA Scout V2 in .357

Ok, I can't decide between a red dot or a low powered pistol scope. I am 38 and my eyesight is just starting to change a little for the worse so the magnification of a scope may help me be able to see in the woods a little better. I am sure I will try and shoot a deer with one of the .357...

    CVA Scout V2 in .357

Do you like the ultradot red dot scope? I was considering one of those.

    "Antique Firearms"

I work in law enforcement and just dealt with this recently. The above posts are correct. All muzzleloaders are considered antique firearms. We recently had a felon shoot another felon with a muzzleloader and kill him and he was not charged with having the muzzleloader. I also recently spoke...

New to CC, how to drive comfortably?

Spend $39 on a N82 original holster and you can do everything comfortably. I wear all the time, every day, and forget I have my pistol on most of the time. It is that comfortable. I have a drawer full of unused holsters that all sucked some way or another. The Nate Squared holster cannot be...

    CVA Scout V2 in .357

Wondering if anyone has any experience with these hunting pistols. I have always wanted a long barrel .357 as it really changes the energy of the .357 and I can plink with .38 special loads. I have looked into leverguns and pistols and this is the one that has caught my attention especially...

    I know, asked a 1000 times... does LC9s make sense vs G26 ?

I found myself in the same position and never carried the glock 26 I owned so I ended up selling it for a glock 19(for home defense). I carried the Glock 19 awhile and hated carrying it as I am 5'6 and 150 lbs. I bought a S and W Shield and I love that little gun. It carries sooooooo much better...

    Night sights for S&W Shield

I would love to hear opinions on everyone's preferred night sights for a carry pistol. I need some on my S&W Shield and can't seem to make up my mind. Thanks in advance.

I was shooting better one handed..... What gives?

I agree with ATLDave. I think you were most likely putting too much pressure with your support hand. I see this a lot during LE pistol qualifications. I would bet you were subconsciously putting extra pressure due to the size and kick of the 460 round. You obviously wouldn't be doing that one...

    Buffalo Bore .357Mag's hunting?

I have hunted with a .357 mag with 158 grain loads and killed a doe at 70 yards with a shot to the vitals. I was using a Marlin lever action and the doe only ran about 30 yards before piling up. This year I bought the Buffalo Bore bullets and plan on using it this season. Since the standard 158...

    Budget 500 yd Rifle caliber?

I agree with Llama Bob. .223 would be a great beginner round out to 500 yards. No kick, cheap ammo and when you upgrade later on you would have a great coyote hunting setup or something to get a child started in shooting with. I have a dedicated target rifle, a Savage Model 10 FCP-K in .308 that...

    Aperture Sights for AK-47?

I have a Krebs Custom sight on my AK and it works well. It doesn't increase the sight radius like the others but it also doesn't get in the way of my siderail scope setup. It is also $30 cheaper. Here is the link...

Primary Arms 1x6 ACSS vs Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6

I just finished building my second AR and now am in possession of a Primary Arms 1x6 scope and a Vortex Strike Eagle 1x6, on two separate AR rifles. I am in a unique position to compare both side by side. I have had the Primary Arms for about a year and have been very rough on it and it has...

    Rifles for Indiana deer

I live in North Carolina and we have always been able to use any caliber we choose. I have never heard of anyone being hit by a stray round from hunting. Maybe it has happened but I can assure you it isn't a regular occurrence. I shoot close to other occupied residences frequently with my 30.06...

    New Scope

My favorite scope that I own for a hunting/target rifle is my Burris C4. They make a newer Burris C4 Plus and they come specific to your load(round) that shoots the best out of your gun. Mine is crystal clear and tough as nails( I dropped it on a rock when I tripped in the mountains and gouged...

need advice on 1-4 illuminated reticle scope for my AR

I hadn't considered that Leupold before. I found a neighbor last night that has one in 3-9 and I really like that bright red dot in the center. It seems to be a perfect mix between a red dot and a scope. The Trijicon, sadly, is above my budget, although I would love to own one.
