D is the lyman kit my dad got in the 1970s and tried to blue it himself and he got mad it kept turning out purple so he put it away and never shot it.
A couple of them have been reamed i believe the euro arms and the 1851 B and C i believe ill heve to check.
The light rings are the gaps...
I have an older chapman set its in a red padded case and says No.9600 on it
I dont use these for anything but working on BP guns a few of them ive had to thin a little for some screws but there is more then enough bits to fit all the screws.
You would think any tip that fits into the screw...
So a few months back another member posted some snapshots of a cheap bore scope he got off e-bay so i went and found one took about a month to get it then after messing with it a few days the LEDs quit. They refunded my money and i found another one again took 30 some days to get it also.
Been...
I use a level scoop with a 45acp shell with 2F and a level scoop with a S&W .40 shell for 3F
Then depending on what powder i level the scoop and dump it onto my digital scale and round it to the nearest and weigh all of them from there.
So i first use those 2 shells for the volume amount then...
This is the funny part because only me and you know the difference and ide rather out shoot you. :D
Ide rather mine SHOOT historically accurate. :neener:
The remington is the best of the reproductions for the conical, the lee you can put it in on the side and push it in a little then rotate it over under the rammer.
I like the lee ones alot, i havnt used to many of them but i like them better then a ball.
There are good and bad of both the colt and the remington.
I'd say the remington is the consistantly the most accurate but it has its flaws.
I didnt think the colt could ever be as accurate as a remington but it actually can. Not sure how consistantly accurate
I finally got a ruger old army and it uses .457 balls so i bought a box just so i could shoot it a few times.
One of my colts i reamed the chamber on and for the first time i shot .457 balls in it and it was the best ive ever shot with a colt so far.
I then put .451 balls in a brass remmie...
i noticed it with pyrodex but also with T7
I havnt played enough with the real black powder to know how it does but Phil told me something that i never thought of.
Always shake the powder, just moving and pouring it can seperate the powder. Like say even though 2F is larger little bits...
Dont setup a gun with old powder.
If your going to setup a gun use new fresh powder then set it up. Then play around with the old stuff IMO it all has a shelf life.
I shot and shot some old stuff then i bought a new can and it felt like i went from 20 grains to 30 (well maybe not that...
Ive noticed with my pistols i tend to always shoot left just a touch. Last night i met my friend up at the range and he had a used CVA he picked up that he shoots pretty well so i tired it with my loads, filler and ball setup.
It shot just like mine do, ive never seen this gun before never...
so you can just post stuff your thinking about getting rid of for some crazy silly price and if it sells cool SUCKER! if not it just continues to collect dust in the gun safe.
I should do that
Do they charge you to post adds on gunbroker and just let them sit there?
e-bay charges even if it doesnt sell so evetually you will start losing money.
I mean weigh them from bullet to bullet.
I have 4 bags that my conicals are in, the majority of them are 201 grains, then 202 grains then a bag of 200 and 203
I had some that were up in the 205 grain and i shot those all up just plinking around.
Phil had these .454 balls he sold me...
