    .223 case failure

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll let my father read over this thread and we'll check the gun's chamber. We also plan to re-work his CFE223 loads using less powder. I'll run these through my chronograph as well just to see where they are at. As was mentioned, probably just a bad or...

    .223 case failure

These reloads were produced by my father, and fired by him from his rifle. And the bags that they were in were listed with the loading details.

    .223 case failure

EDIT: I just checked Hodgdon's website for loading data and it looks like he's at the max for this powder. I don't use this powder, so I wasn't familiar with his loads or how he came to that powder amount. But this seems like a plausible cause for this separation, right?

    .223 case failure

These are my father's handloads. And he's less experienced with handloading than I am, but he's only ever produced accurate and reliable loads on a single stage press. Never an issue before. The projectile was a Xtreme 55gr FMJ. Powder was 27.5gr of CFE223. I'm unsure of the velocity, but...

    bulk 223 bullets?

Xtreme Bullets are great. They are all I use anymore for handgun and .223 loads. I have no issues working up to 1 MOA accuracy with my .223 loads.

    .223 case failure

I've only been handloading for 3-4 years and I've had plenty of typical failed cases with cracks around the neck and loose primer pockets. But today I experienced a new case failure and I'm looking for insight as to how and why it happened. The rifle is an AR15. It was a fresh build and we...

Cherries Medina holster for Glock 43 - Review

This Medina holster made by Cherries Apparel is somewhat unique in that it was designed to be a BWB (Below The Waistband) holster. I prefer deep appendix carry, so this WBW holster appealed to me. I couldn't find any info on this forum regarding this holster, so I figured I'd give my review of...

    Agreed. And mine did.

    Anti-rotational Pins: Worth it?

Some lowers are inexpensive. Others require special engraving, a $200 tax stamp, and lots of wait time. ^^^ Ditto.

Worst newly loaded 9mm Luger ammo.

Tula Brass Maxx is the worst 9mm I've ever shot. Very weak brass. Still, I wouldn't consider it to be junk or unreliable. I have zero experience with steel cased 9mm.

Do you haggle with gun stores?

I always try. As soon as the words "Gun Broker" slip from my mouth, they go into defense mode. But it is what it is. When I walk into my LGS with something in mind, I already know what it would cost OTD (out the door) from GB. If they can't touch it, then a seller on Gun broker, UPS, and my...

chamfer & deburring tool in power drill

My solution: Buy the Lyman case prep tool and chuck up the end pieces in a hand drill. I can chamfer/deburr 20-30 cases per minute with ease. http://www.amazon.com/Lyman-Case-Prep-Multi-Tool/dp/B004MCMCYE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430164486&sr=8-1&keywords=lyman+tool I also trim with a...

There's no such thing as 'enough'. More is always better.

Interesting experience at Gun shop outside of Chicago...

I hear about so many brick and mortar gun shops that are complete dicks when it comes to FFL transfers. Thank God for the smaller FFLs that operate out of their house or home office...

Flat steel puzzle piece AR lowers

Kind of odd that the seller is based out of Kansas but charges me Michigan sales tax.
