    Disposing of tumbling media ?

The only thing I can think that might stop up your toilet faster than ground corncob would be your Depends.

    Smashed shoulder trying to crimp?!?!?!?!

It appears that you don't really need to crimp a .223. Do either of the bullets you're using have a cannelure?

    Thinking about a .25?

Recent shooting in my part of the woods. Guy attacked a property owner and, after firing a couple of warning shots into the ground, the property owner shot him in the forehead with a .25 auto. Bullet did not penetrate the skull; went under the skin and around. Did stop the fight, however...

One of my not so brilliant ideas for wet tumbling

I tried the wet tumbler with some Armorall Wash N Wax one time and came out with the same mess described above. Apparently I used too much. Those who advocate adding the wax to the wash don't advise how much to use. I gave up on the wet wax and now just run my brass through the vibrator with...

    Safest way to seat primers?

I have an RCBS hand primer I used for years without any problem; but it's slow. Got a Lee Classic Turret with the primer; couldn't ever get it to work reliably, and really slow when it did work. I now use the Lee bench mounted primer. Mounted it on a board and clamp it to the bench. I took...

    Powder scoop set or Auto-Drum?

The auto-drum with riser on the classic turret will make your loading so fast and easy, you'll grin and wonder why you waited so long. If you load more than one caliber, you can get the extra doo-dads (?) for cheap and not have to adjust your dropper when you change calibers. Just check your...

    Dating IMR powder?

I've got a "can" of IMR 7625 which has stamped on the bottom E94OC26. 1. Could this be October 26, 1994? 2. The powder has been in the house since I've had it, has no smell, is it probably still good to use? What is 7625 good for? Thanks, JD

Guy with mainly Lee dies & shell holders, good with RCBS Rock Chucker?

Having been where you are, I would suggest the Lee Classic Turret for pistol ammo. Twice as fast (at least) as my Rockchucker and easier to change calibers. I deprime on the Rockchucker, then prime on a Lee bench mounted primer and load on the LCT. Rifle goes ammo on the Rockchucker. A press...

Why is resizing 9mm so hard?

As mentioned above, if you are not using carbide dies, you will have to lube or suffer. A short tumble (30 min.) with corncob and some auto wax ( Nu-finish) will make it a lot easier.

Want to Upgrade to a Turret

I too, couldn't ever get the touch for the safety prime. I deprime, then clean, then prime, then size and charge, etc. on the LCT. If I was shooting a thousand a rounds a month, I'd cut down on the steps, but I like pretty ammo.

Powder speed for browning BAR 30-06

I like the Sierra Gameking 165 grain bullets. I load the spire points at 3.330 and the hollow points at 3.185 RL-15 at 46.4; IMR 4895 at 44.7 and IMR 4064 at 47.5. My BAR will shoot into an inch with these loads (if I do my part...)

    35 whelen misfire problems

You could always get some Cerrosafe and do a chamber casting and find out exactly what's going on. Maybe your chamber is cut a little long.

    35 whelen misfire problems

If I missed it, what kind of impression on the firing pin are you getting with the misfires? Light or normal? If the primer isn't going off, it shouldn't matter what kind of powder you are using. When you use the term "misfire", I presumed that the primer wasn't detonating. A misfire is not...

    TC Encore 308 build

I have it on good authority that .308 and 7.62 ammunition have the same outside dimensions. The 7.62 brass is thicker (machine guns and all that), so the volume is less than .308; usually. Not all .308 brass is the same thickness, so the volume varies with that some, too. If you aren't used...

Preventing Tarnishing after wet tumbling in SS media?

I tried the Armorall Wash and Wax one time. More is not better. Left my brass black and sticky; had to run again with Dawn and Lemishine to get it off. I don't know how much I used, maybe a capful, but it was too much.
