    Reloading .22 Hornet

I picked up a Springfield M6 rifle this week, in stainless steel. It's almost mint condition. But now I have an ammo problem. I knew this would be the case when I bought it. .22 Hornet is all but impossible to find. I've see a few ads for it going for over $100/box, or $2/round. So, I got...

Action shooting - 3 gun/multi gun/USPSA/IDPA/etc. post your videos, discuss techniques & gear

I started shooting USPSA in 1986 (no longer compete). I have a low 3 digit lifetime membership. One thing I always remember was people saying "If you are worried about taking videos of yourself, you're probably not going to do very well". You can probably learn to ignore the camera. Focus on...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I started reloading in 1985. Just stopped a few years ago. Bad timing.

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

Taking everything into account I decided not to wait. In the time since posting thus thread I have acquired 1) 7500 primers (small pistol, small rifle, large pistol). And I averaged about $8/hundred. Have at least 2000 in each size. I did buy my first box of small pistol for $240, but got it...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I was driving out in the rural county today and came across an outdoors store. They had primers from various manufactures. They had a 300 limit (3 trays) for $6/100. I picked up 300 Federal Small Pistol for $18. Tomorrow I'm going to get 300 Small Rifle. Not bad compared to the $300/1000...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I just picked up a brand new, in the box, Dillon 550C, with 9mm conversion kit, for exactly Dillon prices. Nice. And I have found 3500 primers (1000 Small Pistol, 2500 Large Pistol), so I think I'm good to go. Got some 3 die sets for 9mm and 10mm for about $50 each. I have 124gr and 180gr...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

The saga continues. I have located a small supply of 10mm ammo at a reasonable price. Picked up another 300 rounds. So my short term needs are met, wtih about 500 rounds. I have located a Dillon 550C, with 9mm conversion kit. Have 3rd party 9mm dies that will work. Just need primers and...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I found a temporary source for 10mm ammo. They only sell 1 per customer/day. Going back for 2nd box of 50 in a few minutes. I bought 3 more .22 pistols the other day. I have tons of .22 but only a couple of 10/22s. Maybe I should try trading some of my Gold Medal Match (.308) ammo, for primers.

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

Things ALWAYS get worse, when Democrats are in charge. Still looking for AA9 and some large pistol primers. Found some commercial 10mm loads, and some 180Gr bullets, but I'm still short of powder and LPP. Also found a 10mm die set, so I'm getting close. I have found someone willing to sell...

Looks like stock photos? Are you claiming there are stores right now with shelves like that. Where?

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I have really never left. I just stopped reloading. :) I was just down looking at my bench again and started checking my dozens of bullet boxes and found 217 handloaded 9mm. I'm not sure I want to shoot these. I went through a period of shooting Major 9, in USPSA competition and these may be...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I just went through the remainder of my reloading supplies. I found, 1) RCBS Rock Chucker, single-stage press, complete with powder charge canister, trimming lathe, 4 or 5 different shell holders 2) 8 pounds of AA7 (years old), 8 half used 8 pounds of AA7. 3) 2 trays of primers (maybe 1000...

Is there any point in buying a reloader now?

I have reloaded for decades. But I got rid of my reloaders a few years ago. Now I'm thinking about it again, because of the shortage of ammo. I have enough ammo, for a few years but one never knows when it might run out. Everywhere I look the components are as hard or harder to find than the...

    Shooting in Mt-Baker/Snoqualmie

RE: Specifically, this "order" https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5299246.pdf Calls out an exhibit A. That "A" is a high use area, near the freeway. Guess I have no problem with that. However, Hansen Creek Road goes way outside that are, and up the mountain, and there are...

Rouge in polishing media - effect on powder

Except that "ferric oxide" is more like "rust" than virgin steel ;) That's why I asked the question. oxides are new material created by oxidation. derivatives aren't always the same as the original. The other reason is because "rouge" might just be a common term and not specifically a...

Rouge in polishing media - effect on powder

I have always used untreated crushed walnut shells. I have seen some mfgs. put rouge in with the walnut shells. Far too messy for me to use but I was wondering: Does the rouge, in any way, affect the shelf-life of a loaded cartridge? Thanks
