My wife wears reading glasses and has difficulty seeing the front sight without the glasses. When she wears the reading glasses she sees two targets down range.
Without the glasses she can clearly see the target but the sights are blurred.
What can be done so she can shoot from 0 to 25...
I am getting conlicting information on hi-cap (or whatever the correct term is for over 10 round) centerfire ammo mags.
Are they or are they not now legal for us to buy in CA?
Out of curiousity I typed in "SHTF" in a search. It revealed 129 pages of threads on this topic. It appears many are concerned with a SHTF scenario. But what if you are someone who doesn't think it will happen in your lifetime?
What firearms do you have (and maybe why) if you aren't part of...
The 'Gun Haiku" is nice but it just somehow falls short of good old Doc Suess. To me, it seems better when it rhymes. So, here is my offering;
A Garand with its ping is a glorious thing
Some loaded enblocs and you're ready to rock
With much history- it's easy to see
Why most think that...
Admittedly, I know little about ballistics. But I do see merit in having a lever gun and a revolver both chambered in .357. And I find lever guns kinda cool.
Unfortunately, I own a 9mm pistol that I really like and shoot very well. And I don't really want to buy a revolver and a lever gun if...
If a guy has a couple of rifles (1 intermediate and 1 long range calibers) and a couple of pistols, does he really need a shotgun?
Seems like most everyone is in favor of the shotgun, but is it a necessary componant for an urban environment? Or, is this an 'either or' type of deal?
I have a Colt Official Police .38 (6 shot) with a 6 inch regular barrel. The serial number is 602XXX. It has wood grips and is about 80% (i'm guessing) in wear. The cylinder locks tight and the timing appears to be good.A groove for a rear sight and a blade front sight with a gold colored dot...
This was sent to me and I thought it might be appreciated here:This poem was written by a Marine.
Monsters and the Weak

The sun beat like a hammer, not a cloud was in the sky.
The mid-day air ran thick with dust, my throat was parched and dry.

I'm interested in buying a rifle for SD and range practice. I do not have alot of knowledge or tools, so I'm looking for a rifle that is reliable, has few parts and easy to work on if something breaks. I intend to leave it in stock condition. I'm open minded as to caliber, but I am thinking .223...
I had a S&W 442 once. I have sold it because every time I shot it, the cylinder release button took a chunk out of the knuckle on my thumb.. I became inconsistant with the weapon because I anticipated the injury and therefore, I am a puss.
I tried to modify my hand position so I wouldn't get...
I've been contemplating the purchase of an SKS, mostly because I hear they are inexpensive and reliable. I like the looks and and for what I paid for my mini 14 I could have gotten a couple SKSs.
Now I learn that the Swiss K31 is a reliable long distance shooter.
So, I'm looking for...
I will be buying a S&W 442 very soon.It is offered in either blue or satin finish. I will be carrying it daily in California weather conditions in a pocket holster or IWB holster. Which of these two is a more durable finish? Thanks in advance for your input.
I'm thinking about buying a gov't-size.45. Nothing trick just a stock, factory, non-race gun SA pistol
So, With respect to quality and bone stock out of the box reliability, what do you .45 afficianados recommend?
Colt, Kimber, Springfield, ???
Mini 14 or SKS?
Which is easier to work on for the lay person?
Which is a better performer
Which round is a better performer?
If its an SKS, which one? Russion, Chinese???
If it's the mini standard or ranch?
It'll be used to teach the kids how to shoot a rifle and as a HD and SHTF...
