When I was at Ft. Lewis I purchased a new M1A (basic model) for around 280.00 out the door. Sold it to our unit armorer when I went overseas for about 300.00. Probably had about 30 rounds through it. Arguably my favorite rifle. Unless you humped it all the time. :D

Rotate 4 clicks for 1" @ 100, 2 clicks @ 200, etc. At 50 yards, for one inch movement w/ 1/4 turret, you would double the number of clicks to 8 for 1 inch. Is that what you're looking for? You have 1 moa = approx 1" at 100. 2" @ 200, 3" at 300 thought it remains "1 moa".

I lack the expertise to speak of dots. I've observed good dots and not so good dots when it comes to crispness and resolution. I have 2 Holosuns and I find their dots (and one circle) to be excellent. If you have a simple magnifying glass, see what that does to the dot. Looks good here:

It's just lingo, ballistics calculators, and presumably the robustness of some optics with which you're unfamiliar. No biggie but can be used to your advantage when long distance shooting primarily.
