    tall tales

My parents have a nest of insect eating small bats in their roof and I have spent many hours watching them at work at dusk and dawn. By the way ceezee described it sounds exactly how I'd try to shoot them, not that I'd have any need to do such a thing. They kind of have a deliberate flight path...

    best primer tube filler

+1 for the eye pro lesson. I recently had eye surgery and don't need to wear glasses anymore and there have been many times where I've had to stop and think, I need to protect my eyes. Can't count how many times something has hit me in the glasses before. Nice work on the labour for hire, what...

    Non-tactical belt without belt holes

I have used the same nylon Mil-Force belt for around 5 years and havent had any problems or had the belt come undone. Mine is the 3.3cm version and fits regular belt loops fine. Doesn't seem tactical to me but your opinion may be different. At most I've had a large leatherman, small torch, and...

    1/2 scale AR-15

Would make for a good episode of THR Candid Camera at your local range - the look on peoples faces when you rock up, get this out, slap a mag in, charge it and start sending lead downrange would be priceless.

What's a good knife the same size as Kershaw Scallion?

Is your spyderco a flat grind? I have a caly 3.5 and wouldn't want to use it as my 'cut everything' daily knife (very thin fine edge), something to think about if the dragonfly is the same.

What's a good knife the same size as Kershaw Scallion?

Although it won't fit your change pocket a Buck Vantage is a great economical 'user'. I had one in my pocket for a long time and liked them so much I bought 10 and gave them to my friends. Holds an edge and everyone I gave one to could sharpen it. I'm a bit more snobby now and carry all kinds of...

    Dive Knife

I would be worried about the sheath retention on the moras. All that I've owned (30+) have been very poor. Overcome that, and they would be most excellent for a sharp cheap requirement.

What bothers you most about brick and mortar gun stores?

Maybe its just due to our laws here, but in a lot of places I get the feeling that they think they are doing me a favour by selling me things like guns, ammo, and components. If I had more choice, I would treat that attitude like I would when dealing with any other business and never go there...

    New Rifle, What to Get?

I shot some hogs with a brand new GSR on the weekend and was quite happy with it. Loved the ghost ring sights. It ate up all of the 150gr core-lokts we could feed it, and also shot well with Winchester 130gr woodleigh factory ammo. Its not a gun I would personally put a scope on and shoot to...

    Gun for my Daughter?

I can't help you with gun selection, but I can recommend that you also line up some training and make sure she is across all local laws relating to SD. Good on you for getting the ball rolling to sort it out.

A gun is pointed at you. What next?

There is a good video on the tube that I watch once or twice a year, Resist by bigdad06. Personally, if I definitely thought they were going to try and kill me, I would resist. Their gun may not be loaded. The safety may be on. They may hesitate, jerk the trigger, or fumble. IMO, better to die...

Help! Ideas on gun (gift) for husband

Men still have to run the gauntlet of buying sexy nickers and stuff and get the size and style right, why shouldn't Sara get to feel that anxiety and sheer terror as well? :-) A nice 1911, a variety of ammo, and a gift certificate for a holster would be awesome.

Had a bit of an accident today....

Can't believe what I just read - is this a joke? If you read post #5 and think that guy is an idiot, you need to put the guns away until you gain the common sense required to operate them safely and abide by what I thought to be a standard ethical code that most hunters hunt by.

More scenarios from Willie's Book of Life

Yet another enjoyable post Mr Sutton, I was hoping people would play along as intended but can understand that your stories are such a great read that convincing them to do so may be nigh on impossible. All the best and have a safe trip.

    Tikka T3 bolt shroud questions.....

I have the SXT version - works like a charm, and easy to install. I can't seem to find the old one to show a picture of the broken plastic on mine. It probably would have held on a while longer but I replaced it anyway.

Tikka t3 lite good bad and the ulgy

horsemen61, I have the T3 Hunter Stainless in .308. I would suggest buying one of the aftermarket bolt shrouds straight up and not wait for yours to fail. It will fail. Mine started warping and wearing before i'd even put 200 rounds through it and I was very careful with the rifle. I am yet to...
