    Desert Eagle Questions

Can someone explain to me exactly what the differences are between the CA, and non-CA versions Desert Eagle besides the cosmetic differences i.e. weaver vs picatinny style rail? Any mechanical differences? I live in CA, hence the question, and I'm not having a whole lot of luck finding the...

    Anyone hunt with 6.5 Swede?

This is some awsome info guys, thank you. Slamfire, beautiful rilfe. Thank you for all that info you shared. It just reaffirms my desire to own a 6.5x55. I like my Creedmoor a lot, and many would probably ask why I'd want a Swede since it and CM are basically balistic twins. I wanted a Swede...

    Anyone hunt with 6.5 Swede?

I have a rifle chambered for the round everyone loves to hate, 6.5CM. I love that little round. Back when I bought the rifle chambered for it, I'd never even heard of the Creedmoor. I had always been enamoured with the 6.5 Swede, and when I was doing research on it, I learned about the Creedmoor...

    Bellelli montefeltro question

Recently purchased a Benelli Montefeltro Featherweght. Great gun, not so great recoil pad. I want to replace it with a Pachmayr Decelerator Old English pad. I put one years ago on my Beretta 686 and it did wonders for keeping my shoulder from getting too beat up. The only issue I see is that the...

T3x Lite in 6.5 CM is exactly what I've been looking at.

New hunting rifle, help me choose.

Regarding Tikka, looking at the lite and superlite, there was only 1/10th lbs. difference between the two. Like you, I prefer a little more meat on the bbl as well and would stick the non-fluted bbl. I don't think anyone is going to notice .10 lbs difference in weight. Regarding Kimber, I went...

New hunting rifle, help me choose.

Ok, so I'm looking into getting a new hunting rifle. I've got a few hunting rifles, but they all weigh close to 10 lbs. outfitted with scopes/mounts etc., so I'd like to get something a little less cumbersome. I've narrowed it down to the Weatherby Weathermark and Sako 85 Finnlight II. Bare...

    School me on SAKO rifles

I'm looking to get another rifle. I've been Jonsing for a Sako for a long time. I will be buying used and likely pre 75/85. I like the older rifles, but they have so many different actions, I'm not sure which to get. I will likely be getting a long action so probably an L61R, AIII or AIV, but...

    Browning/FN commercial Mauser

Just won this beauty off of GB. Only problem is that I can't find a whole lot of info about these rifles. These were built on an FN commercial Mauser action, and I believe these were referred to by FN/Browning as their "High Power" line of rifles (not to be confused with the 'Hi Power' pistol)...

So what's the word on the King Cobra?

I was debating on a SW 586 as a hunting companion, but then I remembered the new King Cobra. Up until now I was using my 29-2, but I rarely hunt in bear country, so I don't really need a .44 for where I usually hunt. Only thing that concerns me is that the new King Cobra is a little smaller...

    Vortex or Leupold?

I was actually looking at the VX3 originally. They have a 3 to 12 power scope that would probably fit my needs more than enough, but I was planning on using this scope for boar hunting, among other things, and figured that a 2x as opposed to 3x might be better for some of the short distances...

    Vortex or Leupold?

Thanks for your reply. I just called Leupold after reading your post. The guy in tech support told me that the default parallax for VX-6 and VX-5 scopes is 150 yards. If you're able to hit steel midway to 600 with a fixed parallax of 150, that's good enough for me. I prefer simplicity as well...

    Vortex or Leupold?

Looking to get my first rifle scope for hunting. Trying to decide between these two: https://www.leupold.com/scopes/compact-scopes/vx-5hd-2-10x42mm-cds-zl2 https://vortexoptics.com/vortex-viper-pst-gen-2-2-10x32-ffp-riflescope.html?vortex_reticle=855 I had my heart set on the Leupold, but I...

    .38 special SD load recommendations

Just purchased my first wheelgun in a long time, a SW model 67-1. So what's your favourite flavour of SD load for a 4" .38?
