I was out looking for a cheap .22 revolver today and found a High-Standard Double Nine. it is a w-100 model serial 842XXX. I guess you could say blued finish (barrel has nice color but the frame is painted aluminum I think) It has a color case hardened trigger and hammer and a nice set of ivory...
is it just me or is this a statement that might help explain the thinking of Vermont carry? (feel free to crrect me if I am wrong)
I see that picture and I see law enforcement officer's Counducting a perfectly leagal raid on a dwelling that is belived to contain individuals that are or have...
I am not sure about the markings but are you sure it is a parked finish? the older rust blueing was a blue grey color not the deep blue we generally think of on a blue gun. and as far as the serial number goes the number on the frame would be the number that would be used if selling or...
this was my thought. every 1911 I have fired had some kind of problem with feeding / jamming. if the high power is more reliable then that would be my choice. as far as 9mm or .40S&W goes I just dont feel too good about 9mm, that is a personal preference although I do have to agree that its an...
I love the 1911 but I shot a High power in .40S&W yesterday and loved it.
now I cant decide on which one to purchase for a carry gun. based on over all reliabiliy and ease of use which would you all preffer? I am sure that the 1911 will likely win out but I will give everyone the chance. please...
to my understanding the hammer notch was worn and allowed the hammer to follow the slide forward. I find it hard to belive that is what happened though as it never gave me any problem and was still fairly new, I do still have a feeling that he did something wrong, but if it happened to him it...
I apreciate everyones comments. after reading this I will most likely go back to the good old 1911. I will howevr also be looking a bit closer at the cz line as well for a back up for times that the 1911 isnt practical. thanks again everyone,
Matt
I had to go with the .45 but the .357 would probobly be a better choice as you could have a good high power round as well as the .38 special fpr practice. but I just love the .45acp
1911 guy,
I understand how the 1911 works, but I cant help but to think about mechanical failure. if its mechanical I figure Murphy will come along at the wrong time. I love the 1911, but I hear about people buying $1000 guns an having problems makes me worry that things can go bad. an example...
let me start by saying that I prefer the .45acp in a 1911 but I can't convince myself on cocked and locked carry. I own a Baby Eagle in .45acp and it is reliable but I want something a bit smaller so I was thinking 9mm. what would you all recomend in a 9mm or a .40 if the weapon is concealable...
I need a set of nipples for my 1858 Remington revolver, but I cant seem to find anything other than what appear to be singles that cost way to much. I cant see spending close to $30 for 6 of these little things. am I missing something when I look for these online or what? where do you all...
I highly doubt this will happen but the key to any election is to get the people who dont want this to VOTE. Way to many people complain about things and want this or that but they dont vote at all or wait until there is no good choice. if we dont want things like this to happen then we need to...
less lethal rounds can be lethal if not used properly. You can only shoot from a certain distance without a major risk of death. even at "appropriate" range they can be lethal. I know of one instance where an inmate in a major correctional institution was shot at with these types of rounds, he...
I assume that you are using 15 round mags? Most people think that these were the standard magazine when in fact it was a ten round magazine which fits in the pouch rather well.
Matt
first let me say that I reload. I can see why some people dont do it however. I only own a total of 5 guns, 2 of which I havent shot in a year and one I shot a few months ago but average only twice a year and less than 50 rounds each time. although I shoot alot with the other 2 I can see if...
depends on my mood at any given time but it is generaly #1 or #2 the other being plastic modeling of second world war aircraft. I tend to switch up every 6 months or so although season seems to have little to do with it.
