    Lee's Factory Crimp Die?

Just my 2 cents worth, I think the FCDs are good to have on hand. Like so many tools in my tool boxes that I rarely use. But they both come in handy from time to time.

    RCBS cracked at top??

Silver solder comes to mind. Have your friend do a search on mending cast iron with silver solder. I'm assuming that the press is cast iron.

    Ruger LC9

I have had a LC9 for about 10 years. It's a pocket or IWB carry. It has been reliable. Yes, it has a long trigger pull. I don't find that it is a heavy pull. And it has a definite trigger break, with little overtravel.

Powder coating - A list of good and bad powders

I bought the Eastwood's Ford blue some time ago. It sits unopened. One day I will try it. For now I have been using Hy-Tek powder.

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

Reading up over at castboolits.com, I may have to invest in a mold for heavier bullets. The heavies seem to be more reliable for cycling.

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

Thanks for the chart! I missed that yesterday. Good info!

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

Not so much as the cost of jacketed. But more of the challenge. My plan is to not start off with cast until I get a grip on loading jacketed. I load a lot for .223, but cases are plentiful for that. I want my .308 cases to last longer. :)

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

Good point of cleaning the bore before swapping types. I powder coat my cast. So if I do my part correctly, I should have minimal to no fouling. The Riflespeed AGB looks supreme. I like the extended dial. Got it in my favorites for later. Thanks!

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

I will have to study up on which gas block to use. Hopefully I can gain some insight here on that. :) I have a nice mold for 155 gr. bullets. Got it originally for 300 BLK. There is some load data on cast bullets for the .308W using H335 that I hope I can build on.

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

Good point about having something to prevent over drilling!

    AR10 Adjustable Gas Block?

I'm about to order a 20" .308W barrel with a rifle length gas system. If suitable, I'd like to be able to switch from jacketed to cast with gas-checked. The build is in DPMS style. What do I look for on a barrel as pertaining to the gas port size? I have read where some have enlarged the hole...

    300BLK resizing?

Most of the 300 BLK brass I have is repurposed 5.56 brass. As long as the brass neck wall thickness is .012" or less, they will fit the Lyman case gauge. I use the Lee's sizing die. For a quick reference. :)

Yikes! Now you will have to rework your loads! 🤔

Yesterday in the barn, AKA: melting stuff is fun!

I had a 5+ gal bucket (one of those buckets that pool chlorine tablets come in) of clips and metal weights full to the brim. It's weight at the scrap yard was a bit over 100 lbs. IIRC. I lifted it up into the van. I surely wouldn't try to lift a bucket full of lead. :)

    Mananaging your cast stores...

Stamps are another thing I need to get. I am finding that some of the alloys I mixed a couple years ago, that the sharpie marking has faded somewhat.

    Mananaging your cast stores...

I like the sound of your set up. Right now I have one 20# pot. I plan on expanding the rifle mold collection, so it makes sense to have a separate pot for them. I keep enough cast bullets on hand. When they're low, I cast some more. I'm not a high volume shooter. And I still shoot some...

Confusing results with 9mm and CFE Pistol

CFE-P has found a home here in 9mm and 40 S&W. I tried it in 45 Auto and 380, not much to write home about. I find that CFE-P likes higher pressure max loads. It's repeatedly in the single to low teen digits of SD at max. It's not the highest in velocities, but it gets up there. CFE-P at...
