ID this optic - looks odd or backward to me

Saw this picture on the web, looks like a LPVO mounted backwards but I can’t be certain

Cougar kills young man in California

Mountain lions are not that big, 200lbs is a huge one. I would carry nothing special, a 9mm handgun would work well if you are hiking - light, out of the way, easy to access, a few extra rounds to warn off the cat before killing it if it’s getting a little too curious

Drop in 9mm barrel for G22 question?

I have lone wolf 40-9 conversion barrels for a Glock 27, 23, and 35. And I’ve used them for 3gun comps. I’ve not changed springs or extractors I’ve shot a few thousand 9mm rounds 9mm mags reduce malfunctions The lone wolf barrels have a smaller chamber, factory ammo works good, reloads...

Cheapest, easiest way to trim a lot of .223 brass?

I have a Wilson trimmer and it works good, but it’s slow Considering a WFT (little crow gunworks) but I’m open to suggestions if you know of a cheaper option I probably have 500 pieces of brass that need trimmed, and will likely have another 500 in a few weeks

Action shooting - 3 gun/multi gun/USPSA/IDPA/etc. post your videos, discuss techniques & gear

This weekend it was cloudy and grey, we were the 3rd squad through. The range is used for I know distance shoots and has targets out to about 750yds, lots of little white specs down range and lots of grey trees mixed in

Action shooting - 3 gun/multi gun/USPSA/IDPA/etc. post your videos, discuss techniques & gear

Dots can be a real challenge - the long range stage here was only 200 yds, but finding the target against the background was a struggle for some. A bit of magnification helps so much

Action shooting - 3 gun/multi gun/USPSA/IDPA/etc. post your videos, discuss techniques & gear

https://youtu.be/Y9lSsJyIu74?si=G0qhUFDb4T2CLDrY First PCSL match. Pretty standard 2 gun match with “funny targets” Hit factor scoring made for good uspsa practice. I recently added a timney trigger and Dawson sights to my Glock 35 and used a 9mm conversion barrel, no power factor...

Scope vs Red Dot vs Iron Sights - Expected Accuracy

I agree that it is possible, and many folks do it I find it difficult without a target designed for the distance you are shooting, the large black circle targets used in high power are a good example I salute any person who can pick up a standard rifle and print a 2” group at 100 yds with...

Scope vs Red Dot vs Iron Sights - Expected Accuracy

Most red dots have a 2 moa dot and most iron front sight posts are at least this large if not larger, so shooting a group smaller than the sighting mechanism seems to be quite difficult. The high power folks can do it, but they are very good, know their system. And use targets made for the...

    Silencers - Why?

a lot has been said about them. Here is my 2 cents 1. Hearing protection/noise reduction. 2. More pleasant shooting. Less recoil compared to a bare muzzle, less concussion 3. For hunting, see above 4. For teaching inexperienced shooters or kids. 5. Accuracy. Because the recoil is reduced...

    First uspsa match, “Frozen Chosin”

You are correct sir, updated in the op. The second stage in the video was particularly challenging because the distance, 20-25 yds. I had 4 misses and 2 No shoots on that stage. I missed one entire target, i engaged it, but didn’t cut paper which was a surprise, I’ve shot 3 gun before so I’m...

    First uspsa match, “Frozen Chosin”

I shot production division with a fairly new to me Glock 17 gen 5. For a test of ammo I used 124 grain AAC brand fmj,’s Match was 5 stages, one speed stage (6 stacked steel lollipops), classifier (#9 I think) and three other stages It was fun as always, I had a few brain farts, missed a few...

Uspsa legal Glock 35 mag extensions

Considering dabbling in limited major with my Glock 35 and want a mag baseplate I read some issues with Taran Tactical +5/6 extensions not meeting length requirements by a hair What are other good options to get the 40sw magazine up to 20 rds and meet uspsa size requirements?

Who abuses their nice shotguns (Benelli/berretta/$1200-$2000)

Ok I see I used a poor word when describing hard use of a shotgun. i clean my Guns after use if they get wet - I hate rust in all forms The other day I had a shotgun in my lap as I kayaked down a backwater creek in Virginia, getting in an out many times, dripping muddy water all over the...

Who abuses their nice shotguns (Benelli/berretta/$1200-$2000)

I’ve been doing a little duck hunting this year from a kayak and a small plastic John boat/pond prowler thing and my 870 had been abused Frozen freshwater marsh mud everywhere, soaking wet, etc The ice is causing feeding problems with the flipper I’ve heard reports, and watched the “grand...

How does a load/rifle go from 1 MOA to 1/2 MOA by INCREASING distance?!

I am familiar with the term, I have seen a good deal of discussion on the topic and it seems to me that most of the effect we see is often a reduction in shooter error and not improved bullet flight I may be wrong but i would wager that the op has a pretty accurate combo and happened to lay...

How does a load/rifle go from 1 MOA to 1/2 MOA by INCREASING distance?!

Bullets don’t “go to sleep” but shooter’s relax and just shoot, and often better When you see your group developing, many folks, myself included, start thinking about how it’s shaping up, and that causes us to do certain things for better or worse Sounds like a nice rifle and a good load...
