    Work Related Policy

I haven't posted often but I want to ask about my new job- it's a part time, midnight shift gas station gig. In the handbook it states, termination may occur if an employee has an "unauthorized possession of a weapon". The business itself is not posted under a No Carry Zone, and I legally own...

    continued Training after CCW

I appreciate all of the comments. The desire to have the ingrained Proper fundamentals is why I want to get to a course before doing the advanced classes. I just wasn't sure how to find that level of training. It seems everything you find is either for the true beginner and advanced "expert"...

    continued Training after CCW

I put this under Training because that seemed like the logical place but if there is another thread or location for this topic, my apologies. I'm looking for tips on which step to take next in training with my firearm. I have my license and spend a fair amount of time at the range and...

    Concealing concern with Shoulder Holster

Thanks for the tips. I've now carried a few times around my closest friends and no one noticed I was carrying. I did get asked to show my gun to a friend (home owner of the house I was visiting), we were already outside standing in the garage on my way out, he started walking towards my car...

    Concealing concern with Shoulder Holster

While wearing an outer garment over the shoulder holster- how can I prevent the item from flapping open in the wind? Any tips would be appreciated.

Black Rifles - Love them Fear them

I want to get my first "black rifle" this year and I had no idea the options were so vast. I don't know where to start. I know its just one for me tho. I'm broke lol.

    NO GUNS SIGNS (Illinois)

I've seen a few but the only one that caught me off guard was the investigation place where I did my fingerprints live scan or whatever its called. That was in Centralia, Il. I won't name the place bc they were good guys and I respect their place but its not hard to figure out if you try ;) lol...

How much difference in accuracy, Lasers vs open sights

Anyone smoke? If you smoke in your house, guess what? You can see the beam. Or is that only happen at my house?

How much difference in accuracy, Lasers vs open sights

I have both Tritium and CT laser grip. I practice with both. I believe the laser is an added tool, its not a replacement to the iron sights at all. I I get irritated seeing people so blatantly disregarding lasers as a gimic. Just bc they aren't for you doesn't mean they don't have their place...

    Competition warm up

Eventually I want to do both pistol and rifle but primarily pistol for now. (I don't have a quality rifle, yet.) As far as joining a match, do I just show up and compete or do I have to join any organizations or anything? Otherwise, I'll check out Stoeger's program and come back when I have...

    Competition warm up

I am fairly new to shooting and have never shot competition in any form. I've grown up with guns nearby but bought my first two in 2013. I'm a young guy, (25) so I have a long road of refining and competing ahead of me. With that said, on my range trips what should I practice on to prepare me...

IL CC Permit applications approved - it's starting

Congrats Trent. I dont have access to my account to check the status but I shouldn't be too far behind. Edit: I don't have computer access to check it, the account itself is accessible so far as I know.

You better go check with a eye doctor right away. I hear those lasers do a lot of damage to your rods and cones. *Bug eyed*

Thanks guys. I love it. Outside of this photo I always use the safety, I promise! I'm well aware of my safety. For some reason I liked the picture that way better. I guess it seemed more alive this way. I can't wait for illinois to get in gear and start issuing our licenses.

Safety stays on anytime the slide isn't locked back, (except for the pictures of course.)
