    Mauser banner Standard model

Great info. I love the speculative story too. The stock does have a weird reddish tinge. But it's not laminate. It's just been abused some

    Guns on a TV show

I'm glad someone was able to identify it and satisfy my curiosity. I looked up some specs of a 450 NE. It'll push a 450+ grain bullet at almost 2200 ft/sec. The wealth of knowledge here never ceases to impress. Thanks Jim

    Guns on a TV show

I'll have to take a picture of the gun and the cartridges it shows in his belt. Looking at the cartridges, my guess is it's supposed to be one of the nitro rounds. Which is funny because in episode two he fires it one handed. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually just a doctored up 410.

    Guns on a TV show

In the new series 1923. The very first scene in Africa, he kills a charging lion. I guess this series is too new and I can't find any info on IFDB. Does anyone know what type of gun and caliber is used to kill the lion? It's some kind of double barrel rifle.

What caliber would you be most interested in seeing tested?

I voted 10mm. But I would like to also see some 327 and/or 44 special with a dewc bullet. But I also would like to thank you for the tests you have done. I find them informative and helpful.

What did you see at the gun shop today?

I guess I shod have specified. It's actually the 8x50Rmm Austrian Mannlicher. Not the 8x50r Lebel. Most of the M95s were converted to 8x56r. The one on the left is 8x50Rmm Austrian Mannlicher and the right is the Lebel.

What did you see at the gun shop today?

Last time I was in a gun shop they had a Steyr M95 in the original 8x50r for a whopping $219. The tag on it said unknown caliber. It had to come home with me.

What did you see at the gun shop today?

Pretty sure at one time there was a 45 Colt Government. Which was a shortened version of 45 colt. Same rim diameter. But that was 100 years ago maybe.

    How diverse is your collection?

Count me in the accumulation camp as well. And its pretty much all over the place. DA revolvers from makers like Miroku, Astra, Llama, Charter, S&W, Ruger. SA revolvers, mostly Rugers but I think I have a Dragoon in 45 colt. 10 or 12 different models/countries of Makarov and mak chambered...

    Your Favorite Affordable Gun

If its a semi auto, I'd say currently the Zigana PX9 is a great budget gun Or revolver, the quantities are disappearing somewhat right now. But they can still be had for a decent price. The Astra 38 specials are pretty good
