If you were going to buy an AR-15...

I have a bushmaster (20" HBAR) and a CMMG (14.5). If I get another it will be a CMMG. They seem good to do business with, have the features I like (mid-length, chrome, 1-7 twist) and are local (for me). I don't have any complaints about either (actualy the bushmasters trigger is somewhat better...

[2 ARs in one?] .223 with .22lr or 9mm upper

Regardless of the purchase price the .22 upper is going to be much (MUCH) cheaper to operate, so if you're going for best value for practice it's hard to beat a .22

[2 ARs in one?] .223 with .22lr or 9mm upper

I'm not sure what is available in those two items as I haven't really shopped them around, but I think I can help a little bit: the stock (m4 or otherwise) is part of the lower so would be the same no matter what barreled upper you have attached. The flat-topness is a characteristic of the...

Calling all QUIGLEY OWNERS! 45-120 or 45-70 or??

I believe you'll still need a press and dies to load enclosed metallice case BP rounds like .45-110

    Ruger GP 100 Sticky triger

Yeah, When I got a GP100 I sat about dry firing it before I ever cleaned or lubed it. After a bit the trigger began acting the way you describe. I lubed it up and it never happened again.

Home Defense Carbine for my Wife: Ruger PC-9 versus Beretta CX-4 Storm versus AR-15

Do take a look at the site pbhome71 linked to. You'll see that they discovered that pistol ammo actually penetrated more in common building materials than .223 It makes sense if you consider the (relatively) massive and stable pistol rounds compared to the high-speed, center of gravity to the...

    .454 Casull Revolver...skeet targets?

".454 Casull Revolver...skeet targets?" hmm... I don't think the machine will be able to throw the revolver very far, maybe you could get stiffer springs. And how are you going to know if you hit it? Maybe you should try an .38 airweight or one of those NAA things. ;)

    CDNN Catalog #5 is here!

I bought a used 226 that came with (among other mags) two of those Eagle 17s and I was suprized that they seem to work fine, I don't use them regularly but I didn't throw them away. My other mags are mec-gar 17s and "sig" branded 15s (also made by mec-gar I think). All run great.

    CZ Dan Wesson

I just called CZUSA to ask about availablity of the Dan Wesson 1911s. She told me the .45s were already out and the 10's would be along in January. I haven't seen any traffic about these? Anybody had their hands on a new CZ/DW 1911?

    Sig P226- Help

My 17 round Mec-gar's do not protrude below the mag-well at all, they are the exact same size as the "sig" branded (I think also made by mec-gar) 15 rounders that I have. I have an old P226 (west german markings) and it runs like a clock with either mag.

How to eject loaded cartigdge in Marlin 336?

You know I don't think thoughtlessly rude people should be involved in shooting sports, gives the rest of us a bad name. 100% serious :neener: but seriously... I just tried this out with my .45/70 Marlin and it's very tricky to get the lever in the right spot to be able to shake out the next...

Power Custom Ruger action kit install, difficult?

I've done it twice, first on a .44 mag vaq and then on a .44 mag bisley hunter. It went much smoother the second time. In both cases I installed both a free-spin pawl and the hammer-trigger kit. (also a Belt Mountain Base Pen, which I recommend. The instructions are pretty good; and the overall...

    Left handed 870 users...

I meant for my question to be more specific. As in, what exactly is your technique? Do you reach your index finger around the trigger gaurd? do you just not use the saftey, etc. I didn't realize there was such a thing as a left handed saftey I'll have to check that out.
