What is your most prized knife

My most prized is my granddad's old buck 112 2 dot. However I do not really carry it unless going to a family function.

Do you use every knife you own?

I have used every knife I have, unless it was a multiple of a knife, of which I have very few. However I do have my favorites that see more use than others.

    Survival knife as cooking knife

So I have a Becker BK-5, it's kind of a survival knife. It's taken a LOT of abuse over the years and just asks for more. The nice part of it, it's a LARGE trailing point design that does GREAT for slicing and dicing. The baby brother version of it is the BK-15. They both work ridiculously well...

    Recommend a new Folder

Other option is a CRKT M16. It was one of the last folders I used before I switched completely to fixed blades.

    BK20

I will admit, I'm less than enamored with the 4, the Ka-Bar version is too thin and the grind is too low for my preference. That being said, flipping the 4 for $50 makes the 20 $150. The 5 is TOTALLY worth getting.

    Locked up a Leek

This is one of the reasons I quit carrying folding knives. When you need to cut something and the knife won't open you might as well be grabbing a spoon! I had a leek lock up on me, turns out a piece of grit had gotten wedged between the washer and the scale. I also had a SOG Twitch lock open...

    Non-metallic 'tactical' pen?

I'd love to see a drawing or a mock up of this. Also what kind of price point are we talking about? BTW, since it was mentioned earlier in the thread, I absolutely LOVE my Mont Blanc.

    Magnetic knife sheath??

https://youtu.be/6zS5Y2gbVJQ This is one of the knives I know has a magnet in the sheath. James Nowka goes on to do some explaining with it too.

    Old knives, new sheaths

It actually isn't cause they are being cheap. They are making sure they are "jump ready" so they can be used by military since that is kind of Ka-Bar's thing. OP, that looks pretty sweet! I personally don't care if there is a different brand on the sheath, if it fits that is sweet!

Newbie to knives, school me on blade metals

So, as I sit here actually fondling an Esee knife take this with a grain of salt, they are not my favorite knives for camp because the handles aren't that comfortable. When the new Camp-Lore DC-6 comes out that would be pretty good. The heat treat at Rowen is pretty damned good too, I am a huge...

    Custom knife handle

If you have a hack saw, and a half round file, and a cordless drill you could do it too. IF it was me, and you're obviously smarter than I am since you're trying to get help, drill out the pins, use the handles as a guide for the new ones, cut out the shape with the hack saw then do the...

    Brend Neck Knife

Uhhhhh... SPECS?! You know with me around you can't just throw 3 pictures up with a teaser sentence and a half and just disappear!

Any suggestions for a new knife?

I love it too... I turned in my app to work there before but they went with someone that lived closer. Can't say that I blame them, but I was slightly disappointed as well. C'est la vie! Good job on the Esee, it's a helluva blade!

Any suggestions for a new knife?

Did you get it from over at Grand Prairie? I love going there! They have a good variety and (not the young guys) they have a GOOD knowledge of knives.

Any suggestions for a new knife?

Where you at in St. Louis? I can bring by a Esee-3 and 4, BK-16 and 17, a Barkie, and a couple T.M. Hunt knives as well.

How do you display your knives?

I display mine one at a time, on my hip. Otherwise they stay in a drawer (or rather 3 drawers) in my bedroom.

    Needing new Bushcraft knife

If you want the coating gone on the Becker 9, it's really easy. Go get yourself a can of citristrip and let it soak for about and hour. The coating will be gone. The Becker 5, and the 9 are both amazing choppers/cutters/all around badassery blades. The thing about the 5 is that the blade was...
