    Chicago Sues Glock

Chicago has a history of blaming others for their failed policies which have led to it being a crime ridden city. The most common thing I heard when living there was the failure of neighboring states to have more stringent gun laws leads to an influx of guns into Chicago from those states. It is...

    Colorado Weapons Ban

The divide we're seeing in the country is escalating, and the differences between states is significant. I'm now in Wisconsin, about 20 miles from the Illinois border. I can walk into a gun store, buy a gun and walk out with it immediately. We have no "assault" weapon or magazine bans. Drive 20...

Over heard at a local gun range.

The best advice I can give someone is to view ammo prices as a commodity. They rise and fall based on any number of reasons. When prices drop stock up so when prices go up you can avoid having to purchase it at the higher prices or worse, not be able to shoot because it's not available. I...

Nighthawk Custom 9mm Thunder Ranch Combat Special

I've been a fan of Nighthawk Custom since I picked up a used .45 Talon a while ago. Reading vanfunk's post on the Thunder Ranch Combat Special he picked up chambered in .45 peaked my interest in it. A LGS had a used one chambered in 9mm that looked like it's hardly been fired, and every weekend...

Dan Wesson Guardian Slide Release Question

Thanks for the responses. I ordered a slide stop from Wilson Combat. I have a couple of their guns, the EDC X9 and X9S and have had good experiences with their products. It may be a drop in part, but if not there's a local gun smith I can bring it to.

    Staccato or Atlas?

I have three Staccato's, the P, C2 and CS. All three are gems and IMO you won't go wrong with one of the models you mentioned from them. I'm not familiar with Atlas and don't know one way or another if they're worth the premium you'll pay.

Dan Wesson Guardian Slide Release Question

I have a 9mm Guardian with, I'm guessing between 1500 to 2000 rounds through it. It's functioned perfectly from day one until recently when the slide release came out partially while I was shooting it, locking the gun up. I was able to push it back in and keep shooting without it occurring...

    Officer not engaging the shooter

Fastbolt touched on this. The place to start is to somehow stop the war on LEO's we're seeing which has led to departments not being able to find qualified candidates. I understand that this is a nearly impossible task in today's social and political climate. When I was taking LEO tests in the...

    Officer not engaging the shooter

I understand your point, but one of the, if not the most important things our LEO's do is protect us from those who wish to harm us. Mass shootings have unfortunately been occurring long enough and often enough that they are no longer a surprise. Churches like the one I attend understand that...

    The prodigal Nighthawk .45 returns

Elkhorn Gun Barrel. That was their sale price over the weekend. Right now it’s listed for $3800. I don’t know if they would honor the sale price or if it’ll go back on sale next weekend.

Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

We have a brief reprieve from winter, with 70 degree temperatures today. I took a walk down the road running past our house down to our lake. I had my Shield Plus. We're surrounded by farms and have a lot of deer in the area, but for whatever reason they avoid our road.

    The prodigal Nighthawk .45 returns

It is a great deal for a Nighthawk. The LGS tends to run these sales on the weekends. I have quite a few guns, some of which I haven't shot in a while. If it's still there this weekend and it's on sale again I may take a look at trading in some safe queens to offset the price of this one.

    The prodigal Nighthawk .45 returns

One of our LGS' has this gun chambered in 9mm for sale that's used, but looks like it's never been shot. They had it on sale for $3000 over the weekend. I made the mistake of stopping by to take a look at it as it's a thing of beauty and it's hard to resist the urge to go back and buy it. It has...

    Officer not engaging the shooter

A friend of ours is a LEO in our area and had a few of us help with active shooter training at a local college, where we role played during different scenarios. When the training was over we overheard the officer who ran the training talking to the other officers, explaining to them that no one...

Is Whether Or Not You Can Legally Carry The Deciding Factor On Where You Go?

I couldn't have said it better. My youngest son plays high school basketball and is a huge Milwaukee Bucks fan, especially of Giannis. We go to 2 to 3 games per year and have a great time there. I won't tell him we won't go because I can't carry in their stadium. My oldest son races cars as a...

Do you carry a handgun in and around the house?

On Tuesday I mentioned on this thread that we live in a small town with an incredibly low crime rate. Yesterday there was a double murder (a shooting) in our downtown area. We average 1 murder every one to two years in our entire county and this just doesn't happen here, until it does. Being in...

Do you carry a handgun in and around the house?

I now live in a rural part of Wisconsin with a low violent crime rate, so the odds of a home invasion here are immeasurably small. They're not zero, however, and it costs me nothing to carry any time I'm awake and not in a prohibited area, including at home.
